Got the pistons in today, and after when I was cleaning the oil pan, I noticed a wire, oil sensor?? and the wire was pretty stripped, so I plan on replacing that, but what is the sensor, my guess is oil pressure sensor??

Nah the pressure sensor is the can looking thing that sets just forward and a little bit up of the oil filter.

The one in the pan, IIRC, is the temp, it may be just a low oil idiot switch, but I'm thinking it's the temp.

Huge set-back, I was getting close to putting the motor back in when i went to double check to make sure all the bolts were tight, I found a few broken bolts, so I had to remove the head, and front cover, and get those damn broken bolts out, now I need a front cover gasket, and oil pan gasket, and it's going to take a while to get that since school is starting tomorrow

Hopefully it doesn't snow until like december, so i can drive it for a little bit....

and i'm still waiting for the machine shop to finish my downpipe, it's been over a week and still can't fix those damn studs.

I'm just using my stock pipe, getting the studs replaced because they busted, but I read on xenons130.com that you should get a larger diameter, with 45 degree bends rather than 90 degree, it will get better flow, and the turbo will spool better.

As for the oil pan gasket I just ordered one from Autozone

they put all the colors in the world in a hat and drew out blue!

the datsun engine blue si similar to amc blue, who also painted all their engines blue, ford has used a light and a dark blue chevy used to be all orange, newer nissans are black, it's probably the paint they found the cheapest:)

Yea the downpipe, won't fit the s130, the dude said it will hit the firewall....damn, I need one bad!

Does anybody know if this is a downpipe?? I typed downpipe in google shopping at that's what came up, but to me it just looks like it connects to the bottom of the downpipe.

looks liek an n/a exhaust pipe, you coudl always make your own doenpipe wiht mandrel bends, but you'll have to cut the flange off your stock flange as it's unique to the nissan turbo

Can i just use any exhaust pipe, and weld the flanges on there? and thread a spot for the O2sensor? Or is there something else i would have to do?

Haven't updated this in awhile, well since my high school career is coming to an end along with the freezing MN winter I will resume my what seems to me as a never ending project.

I did do a little bit of work on it, but with the G20 out of commission I need to get that fixed then resume my Z.

Theres still quite a bit to do, but once the G20 is finished the Z will be done in no time, thinking about selling both and upgrading to something else

Anybody have a extra IACV laying around, or any of the intake pieces off of a 280zx turbo? PM me if you do.

Pic updates later today!
