Well, I'm bored since i cant drive this pig, so I decided why not go ahead and paint up the car.

Gonna stay simple, nothing really far from stock. The roof is going black and the body is going back white.

I'm using all PPG Global products, although I am not painting the body factory color, I decided to go with something substantially brighter, Ford paint code YZ BRIGHT WHITE and for the roof, PPG 9700 Direct Gloss Solid Black.

Car should look wicked when its done, going to do it right, fix the dings and all, including the eyesore dent in my lower left quarter that's been driving me nuts.

Enjoy!

Phil

That should be nice when you get it done Phil. PPG is good stuff too. I'm with Gabby on the rims too. I'd hate to see over-spray on those things.

Im about 2 steps from the same place yall started.

c-Rad did you ever list your car forsale? never seen complete running CA forsale........ so god only knows what fair market value is.

seen a ton of "s*** slapped together non runnigS13 CAs" sell for 3k+ in the past few days..... no idea why yours didnt sell phil. of all of the CA cars I would have picked that one way before any of those other ones that were total crap.

It seems now that I have a G35, my drive and entertainment with the S is almost non-exsistant. I want to pick up another S13, and make it a track only car, but I want a new CA I can tear down to nothing and built my own.

The right way this time....

put the final coat of primer on the roof today, she came out SWEET! also re did a little on the rear bumper where some pinholes popped up and the front bumper got one more good coat. NO MORE UGLY BLACK LINES!!! WOOHOO!

I also went around and put a skim coat on all the individual dings around the car. Will sand those out smooth and prime them at some point this weekend, should be quick 1 coater's and all that will be left is my buddy Bobby from work to come do the big dent which i do not have the skills yet to take on.

heres some updated pictures (yes i know this is moving faster than anything else on the car ever did, its cause im f***in BORED not being able to drive it! LOL)

and the big dent left...

the body overall wasnt in bad shape... just needed a little TLC.

well, my target of the end of august came and went... and my financial problems have only grown. But we are at least breaking even right now and not falling behind.

I did however, manage to get back to work on the car...

should be finished up this week... I'll keep it updated!

heres some updated pictures... cars sitting on jackstands in the booth ready to be sprayed... shop got buisy so we are putting it off for today i think... we MAY sneak it in at 5pm tho... if so, ill have pictures! also, some pictures of the parts I painted for it yesterday.

The hood died back a little bit (dulled out) so its going to need buffing, didnt wait long enough between coats lol oh well! i was planning to buff the entire car so it looks like glass anyway

its painted, but not out of the booth yet. heres some pictures of the fresh paint after I untaped it at 5pm today! It came out amazing, still some little dings here and there that i didnt try to take out, but all the HUGE dents are gone and this thing is slick as glass!!!!

booth had just kicked off so i decided to pull the tape off the rubbers to make sure that the paint didnt dry to them and try to peel when it was completely dry.

Going to put some new undercoating in the wheel wells, and under side of the rocker panels before I put the wheels back on and bring it back to earth.

I also spent some serious time scrubbing my wheels, getting them looking back new, they had metal shavings etc all over them that had started to rust from doing different cutting here and there building the car.

and finally... the beast awakens... my buddy Josh's 01 Z06 which has been dubbed the "blue devil'

Has a C5R 427ci Race engine, with Wilson manifold, Kooks headers, Race Bullets, Fikse wheels, 18x10 front 18x13 rear, SLAMMED to the ground, FULL cage. heading down to the dyno. The Wilson Manifold and Direct Port Nitrous were just installed, PREVIOUSLY, the car put down 643whp 592tq ALL MOTOR. hes got a progressive 250shot going on, ONTOP of the new manifold, should be about 300-325 extra WHP once tuned this weekend... you do the math... this is a monster!
