I'm trying to do this right and do the 'vert the justice it deserves, it went UNDER a 2500 full ton truck before it came into my hands, front end is stretched back out and I'm paint matching the fenders, its been a long road because of a tight budget..

it doesn't look like you're going to be making a retarded amount of power with this setup. maybe consider reconditioning and re-using the stock rods to save some money. stock ka rods are pretty strong. if you want to get the forged rods and just be done with it, either brand is good. go with whichever you can find for a better price.

DON'T FORGET TO BALANCE the rotating assembly. this is something a lot of people fail to do. it will help make a smoother running and longer lasting engine.

as far as clutch/flywheel - i'm not really familiar with the fidanza in the s-chassis, but i do know that they have a reputation for blowing into lots of pieces on DSMs. personally, i'll never run an aluminum flywheel. i'd suggest getting a chromoly one. they're still lighter than stock, but stronger than the aluminum ones. act and exedy make good clutches. i've also heard that the xtd clutches and flywheels are decent, but i have no long-term experience with them.

ecu tunes... they're all over the place. you might want to check out hybridka.com or browse the ka-t forum here on nico.

good luck and keep us updated.

this is simply to get me started and get it back on the road, I plan on upgrading to a T3o4e, larger injectors, and probably V2 cams.. I just don't want to have to go back into the motor to upgrade things that are easy to get to... thanks for the input.. and I'm also looking into the Exedy, I keep hearing good things and I've never heard bad ones.. I am planning on zero balancing the rotating mass as well as the pistons together, rods together, and end to end.. also, I have ARP EVERYTHING except intake manifold bolts... I was also refering to the Emanage files, i believe *.gsc

got it! yeah, if you've got plans for upgrading, having a solid shortblock is a good idea.

as far as balancing, aftermarket pistons and rods are usually balanced well from the manufacturer. having the crank balanced and then the rotating assembly is a good idea. personally, i wouldn't waste any time having the rods and pistons balanced, unless you're not getting charged too much extra. you have to consider your cost/benefit on that one. face it, the stock internals aren't balanced that great, and the ka can last 250k no problem. just another way to pinch the lincoln.

i thought it was a bit odd that you were looking for ecu tunes even though you had emanage. i don't know where to find those at. never used it.

you may want to consider using a pair of 248 cams (hot-cam swap) while you save up for the v2's. it's a crappy combo for na, but would be good for boost.

Fidanza is not a problem on S-chassis, have one on my coupe (for years now). And it'll be staying when I get boost. Many others have used it with/without boost with no problems.

Clutch is a must (something better than stock). I'm going with ACT myself for boosted application.

You probably will have the issue/complaint of that turbo falling on its face at higher rpms.

I'm right there with you on the cams Dexter, already have them, didn't think about it because I just plan on upgrading later, Chezedik had one a while back but my h/d failed and I haven't been able to get an email to go through, thanks for the input on the flywheels biggie, I personally have an Unorthodox racing flywheel on my N/A and have had NO complaints out of it, since I'm cheap I have to ask, anyone had any experience with the ebay "F1 Racing" flywheel with Exedy clutch, ebay can be good and bad, thats just one thing I don't want to be a bad one...
