And i think having a project car in highschool is a good idea. When your older, you've got other priorities, time and financial. Its hard to spend a majority of your money on a car when your in your thirties and have a kid.Im sure, right now you really dont have too many other thing you have to pay for. And if your cars not reliable, youve got friends who will give you a ride or parents(grandparents) that'll help you out.
And dont be dissin on bus boys.
people say wait til your out of school, but why, so you can buy a shell and watch it collect dust while you way off school loans, bills, insurance, and other priorities? my biggest regret is not buying my 240 a few years earlier when i was still in Highschool. save money for something fun? like what? pop and candy and video games? it makes me sick thinking about all the time and money i WASTED in highschool on random bulls*** i "needed"
like ak47 said, its one of the best times to start a project. you have basically nothing you need to spend money on. why not do something fun and productive with your time and money? and when you graduate, and start college, you'll be glad you did, and have a nice car to get you around. try buying coilovers and wheels when you pay for gas, insurance, rent, books, tuition, cell phone, groceries, and god knows whatever else. you may find its slightly hard to fund and work on a car when you are in school full time and have to work all the time to pay for your living expenses. just my .02
i say more power to him. im interested to see where this build goes. good luck OP
