Well my car is still up on jacks even after hurricane Charley came through. Right now busy with school so haven't been doing much on my project, also don't have enough cash just yet. So far my 89 hatch is gutted out. I got $2300 saved up and will be at 3k in 2 weeks. I bought a ka24e with transmission for $200 paid for it but still haven't received it.want to run very high levels of boost. Should I turbocharge it or go look for a DE and keep the single-cam for backup. Also what do yall suggest for setups? Should i maybe do a twin turbo setup or just a t3/t4. I'm still in school only thing i pay for is gas and when I don't eat at my house. Bank about 300 a week if i work 40hrs. It has a blown headgasket right now which I'm trying to replace. I'm stuck because i don't have the wrench the get the head bolts off. Anyone know what size it is any where i can get one(autozone by chance)? Want to going drifting through hell before i put a nice coat of dupont on it. Want to be finished with this project X-mas so i'll have another 3k to invest by then.

personally i would go the DE route. Right now my car sits in my driveway with a new DE tied to the mounts. Tomorrow i get the task of putting all the accessories and harness back together. I spent a large sum of money on the KA that is going in on a complete rebuild to prepare if for turbo. I would say that if u baught a de engine and transmission for about 400ish and used the rest on building an engine. You would have a really nice setup to build off of. It helps ur doin the work yourself to save cash. Good luck with the project no matter what route u go.~Sam

glad to know you (and the car) made it thru the storm.

you have a 93 with a DE in it right now. But you want to build up the 'spare' KA-E you purchased. I cant say Ive ever seen someone replace a De with a E. Usually the other way around.

I have come to the conclusion that you should stick to what you got. If its a KA-E, find another E to build. If you got a DE, build a DE motor. Ive heard both of these engines are capable and its kinda pointless to swap motors just to go turbo.

You seem to be a little misinformed, if I understand all of your post and sig correctly.

A twin turbo 4cyl is a big waste of money. A T3/T4 is not 2 turbos. It's is one turbo hybrid consisting of one part T3 turbo and one part T4 turbo.

Or are you saying you want one T3, and one T4 for a twin turbo set up?

you confused the hell out of me know
