ok, so the first thing i would like to do is have the car running tip top shape, i basically wanna prep my fuel system/ignition/cooling/anything else really before major motor/transmission upgrades..

What kind of money are you planning on putting down?I'd say Stock tune that piece Wires, plugs, oil change, transmission fluid, coolant change, new brake fluid etc.,As for mods drop a 4-2-1 header, BC V2 cams, Cam gears, SAFC 2 go to a shop get those cam gears and SAFC tuned should get you a decent chunk of power from stock IMO.As for suspension get some Urethane Motor Mounts, check all bushings and see what needs to be replaced and do so get urethane if possible, Get a larger diameter sway bar. Should get you some better handling with that Spring/Combo your getting also make sure you get alignment done after you drop it.Good luck

Well im not an expert but take care of the maintenace stuff first like you said. Then you can try some cheap/free mods like removing emissions stuff if you can get away with it in your state, switch to electric fan if you have stock fan and shroud, get rid of a/c if you dont need it/use it. Relocate the battery and make a custom short ram intake running in that cleared area. The outcome here should be some free'd up hp, better throttle response, and less restricted engine overall. As far as suspension goes, make sure you really research the eibach sportlines as Ive read they are not all that in terms of handling, but do provide a good drop, and there are better spings out there but they wont be as low as the sportlines. IMO, performance > looks, anyday. Goodluck.

Decide what type of racing youre going to be doing if any.

If you are planning on doing any kind of racing involving handling, forget about the tokico's and sportlines.

thanks guys ima build off of those tips. i got a set of eibach pro kits and i alredy have energy suspension polyurethane bushings. im most likely going to get the KYB adjustables with the pro kit springs and where could i find that battery relocation kit?

i live 3.5 minutes down the road from Road Atlanta(the LeMans track, not go fast turn left) and im going to start taking runs on that track on the weekends and keep tuning and tuning for the best street grip set up i can.

oh and the blues and sportlines were already on there when i got the car.

but i was looking at the xcessive intake manifolds how good do those work?

but ya im definitely into grip. and im going to basically be putting 90% of my whopping 300 a week pay check.the only major problem i have. is that i dont know my way around engine bays, i have installed my pulleys/intake, but im basically teaching myself. i will be asking lots of questions..

I was just letting you know ahead of time that the first time youre out there on a smooth race track even at moderate speed, you will realize how extremely soft that suspension is, and you will want to replace it.

Its always good to see another grip enthusiast, come check out 240sxracing.com, theres some good information to be had there, its small, but we're trying to get it to grow, but keep it race-oriented. Hope to see you there!

Summit sells battery relocation kits. But before you go doing that, check the rules/class limitations of your race sanctioning bodies to keep you legal.

Unless your running FI or some high lift long duration cams ex. V3, PDM stage 2 cams with higher redline ex. 7500rpm IMO (this requires springs and retainers or else youll get some major valve float) you probably wont fully utilise this short runner lenght IM. Havent seen anyone dyno with this piece but I wouldnt recommend this unless you have upgraded cams.

i see, i didn't think of the difference in a regular road and a maintenenced race track. i might save up for a set of coil-overs then. and i'll definitely check out that site.

i really want to get my cam timing fixxed up but im going to do maintenence/repairs to the engine and re-fluid everything and what not first. i live in SEDA area. if anyone knows any good shops for that work let me kno!

I have tociko blues and eibach sportlines on my 240, and she handles a lot better then stock, and for daily driving it behaves very nicely, but yea, if ur gonna go for all out track racing, i suggest u get much more $$ suspension, i know i would have, but o well my car came with these,BTW CAMBER SUCKS AS$!

I mean, youll be fine on the track for driving schools, and maybe 1 or 2 time trials, but after that you will be craving some stiff coils and camber adjustability.

I still havent fixed my camber adjusting problem, thats one of the next things I need to do.
