Will PGR2 be head to head online as well as up to 8 racers? hmmmm
I'm almost 100% that PGR2 will feature head to head racing online (not sure how many racers) AND a mode where you can race "ghosts" of people who are on the leader boards for the game. That's actually another cool thing...when you log on, the game automatically checks the "standings".
As far as XBox Live goes, the only game I have for it so far is Mechassault. Mechassault by itself is a decent game, but it really takes on another dimension online. It's simple, fast paced and fun.
I haven't had one major complaint with Xbox live since I got it (been a few months). The voice communication is actually pretty cool, and I've experienced very little lag.
One caveat...you will probably have a much easier setup if you buy a router on the Xbox approved list. I've noticed that any router that has any firewall features will have problems with Xbox Live. For my SMC router, I have to give my Xbox a static IP and then set that up in a DMZ.
BTW, Sega GT Online is coming in late November or December and features...
"Over 165 cars, including 40 new racers since Sega GT 2002. Six incredible Modes: Sega GT 2002, Quick Battle, Chronicle Mode,
Time Attack, and Gathering Mode, and Online Mode.
New tracks, weather effects, and special time-triggered events.
Newly enhanced for Xbox Live with real-time voice chat, online racing, downloadable content, and trading.
Licensed and customizable soundtrack featuring songs from more than 40 alternative indie, garage, punk, ska, and rock bands.
View music video clips in the Garage Tunes Gallery."
This one will allow up to 12 (!) racers at a time. The downloadable content sounds cool too (hopefully new cars AND tracks).
