The lateral arm, and lower tie braces should fit both. The 4 point chassis brace, I will find out about.

Was worried that it would make for a harsher ride when I started reading the article, but does make sense that it would remove some of the vibrations by stiffing it up......Great job!! Sounds like no negative effects! Another mod for my short list.

Beano:

Excellent write up! With this mod on your car, try and find someone with a Mustang or Dodge or Camaro, and lure them into pursuing you into the tight corners on that abandoned road, and see if they make it out in one piece . Till date, not one car has been able to put me in my place on the turns and twists of my secret track. Well done with the write up!

I just spoke with Ken.

The FSTB, Lateral arm brace, rear lower tie brace and fron lower tie brace will fit both the coupe and sedan.

The 4 point chassis brace won't fit the sedan.

Your never going to be faster then me if you keep adding weight....

I am jealous!!!

I think the only 07 suspension part is the Maxima strut tower brace that may require grinding to fit.

Noah's going to kill me for saying this...

Did you have any problem with installing this without a 4 wheel lift?

I was going to get one of these from a different source for the I30 back in the day and one of the "mandatory" tools needed was a 4 wheel lift because the chassis flexes differently when you lift it directly versus through the wheels.

I could be wrong, they could be wrong, I just want some clarification.

Great article and mod, BTW!!! Any idea how much the whole kit weighs?

All three pieces and the box it was shipped in, along with the bolts weighs 15 pounds. The box has to be at least 2-3 lbs. I'll even weigh it for you when I get home.

My car is stock height, and it would have been impossible for me to put on the 4 point chassis brace without lifting the car. The lateral arm and rear tie braces *could* have been done while sitting on the ground (but would have been a royal PITA), but since the car was already up, it made it a whole lot easier.

If you notice, I made it clear that the jackstands have to be set at the same height.

If there is any flex in the chassis when sitting on 4 equally adjusted jackstands, then it just set my chassis straight, because there isn't any room for a flexed chassis when bolting up the 4 point brace, and all 4 holes were alaigned perfectly.

Nate,What is a 4 wheel lift?

btw, If I were to do this one, I would run the front up on my rhino ramps and lift the rear up with my floor jack and drop the back on another set of rhino ramps.Been using jack stands for years, but love the ramps when I can use them. THere is a company that makes all kinds of ramps that I recently got a brochure on, but have misplaced it....will hunt it down.

Correct me if I'm wrong but my shop teacher called our hydraulic lift that had plates that you would drive the wheels onto a 4 wheel lift. All it did was give you a different place to lift the car instead of lifting from the frame, and also made it so it was as if the car was sitting on the ground with its weight on the tires.

Hey Rich,

I thought you decided to leave! lol j/k.

Some lifts use arms that lift up the chassis, others actually lift by the wheels.

When you lift by the wheels, the chassis stays the same as it would while on the road.

If everything fit for Noah, then it should be just fine. The kit I was looking at required holes to be made and I think that can make a difference.

This setup does NOT require "loading" of the suspension, as long as the car is level (left to right).

The flexion occurs primarily laterally, and the bolts for the bracing wouldn't line up properly if the car was "flexed".

These braces are incredibly light - I was amazed at the super-light weight of mine when I bought them!

Great writeup, Noah. Now all that G needs is a set of track wheels / tires (and a real driver)!

As far as a set of wheels and tires, it may be rather soon. Might be working at the bar again. The bummer thing is that SCAA has cancelled all their autocross events for the year up here. It's a real PITA to find anywhere you can drive, other than the 1/4 mile.

As far as the "real driver", two things old man... I have youth on my side.

And I'll let you know when my wife gives me my balls back.
