so i got the car to stay running, the rough idle went away and thats that. i found i need ne suspension... BAD. i was debating coilovers vs springs and struts but i have some debts to pay and i found a guy on craigslist that has some cheap, gold motegi mr8, i believe, wheels. so i'm going to get...

Springs: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVWo ... rs...ZWDVW

Struts: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVWo ... rs...ZWDVW

Let me know what you guys think!
Try these, I have had them on for a year and love them. They offer a more agressive drop and perform very well during everyday driving. They perform very well with agressive driving too http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...06976&

****, I'm gonna pick up a set of those, that's a good price for a decent set of coilovers, I haven't been pricing out suspension lately, but even if they are halfway decent, that's a good deal...especially being that adjustable and the ability to adjust camber with the pillow ball mount.

I seen those the other day...the only thing about them that eerks me is possible quality issues...judging only by there pretty poor design of there sway bars, but this is the official e-bay test car. GO BOSTON

Do some more research... they have horrible welds and finishing. These make ksports look good.

I've done alot of research and, like i said, the only reviews i have read are from actual owners. i heard w/e. i hear this or that. thats all it is is hearsay and unless you've personally used something you're not one to talk.

when i say "you" i dont mean YOU. i mean whoever is saying something about a product they haven't tried.

also, these are fairly new, and are on back order in some places so it's not like they're collecting dust on the shelves. i read a review of an actual user and he said the bolts were loose when shipped, just torque em to spec, maybe loc-tite if you're paranoid, then your set.

i've heard "you get what you pay for" more than you in your entire life would ever believe. this saying is sometimes true, but not all the time. before these what were the cheapest coilovers? megan? well now these are the cheapest, and supposedly a sub company of megan. my point being before these no one was s*** on megan, ppl said they're cheap but ok. all in all, people are scared of new things and expect everyone else to try stuff out.

if theres no personal back-up, nothing should be said

also, people seem to think cheap = bad. is that true? no. you know how much companies pay for things. its common sense... honestly, how much does it cost to make, say... a nismo shift knob. you know they're pricey, i mean, for a shift knob. now you think the company pays that much to make it? no. they need to pull profit. or engine mounts. same deal. you can make these with hockey pucks, granted companies dont do that but everyone knows they need to make a profit. ebay sellers sell cheaper because if you sell cheaper people go to you, so in the end you either break even with big companies, or beat them because you may sell the same *exact* product, just cheaper, bringing in more customers, leading to more money

i hope that makes sense

Why do you write a story like I give a crap... I have PERSONALLY seen them. AND there is information online with pictures... Theres no opinion on this, the welds are CRAP, its a fact.

I've had megans, they were alright and didn't blow... and thats all they are good for. Stop thinking I only buy brand name stuff... I don't but you just give cheap a whole new meaning.

Spare me the time to scroll down and save your long thoughts when you think your right....

if ebay man won't try them, I'm going to regardless, I don't plan on drifting...my car is a summer driver that sees straight line track...not much corner action...so a decent price for an ok set of coilovers that will get me lower than stock or lowering springs is something I'm looking for. I'm not gonna spend a grand on something I won't get any use from really, it's like why buy performance tires if you never do any kind of racing, yeah the performance tires MAY last longer and are much better quality and outperform pep boys brand....but at 2-3 times as much, if you never race or drive too aggressively there's not much of a point in spending the extra cash.If I look at the coilovers and see a weld I don't like, f***, I'll just patch it up a little...and like nismodriver said, torque down any bolts/nuts that need to be....at least these are better than freaking stock shocks with 180,xxx miles on them.

well someone needs some midol. you have to think of mass production. just cuz 1 set wasn't up to your standards doesnt mean the entire production line is shyt. as for my "story" 1 thing i said led to another which snowballed, thats how rants work.

QFT... exactly how i feel. im not going to drift events but every once in a while i have fun. im buying them for adjustability.

oh and incase you missed it...

Hahahahaha have fun with this.

I will be one of the people laughing at you when your half-*** "ebay" car falls apart.

Why are you so proud of putting sub-standard parts on your car?

I take pride in my car and I won't ever buy anything less than name brand, companies with big names get big for a reason...when you pay for a name you pay for the quality that they stand behind.

Also have fun with the customer service behind all of these ****ty ebay items.

That's why he said paint it....

And also, here's an example of the rip off factor...Air intakes...GET 8-12HP!!!!!well no, not even the best of intakes will get that on a ka, AND it will vary engine to engine, and what supporting mods. Why would someone pay $150-$200 for a name brand intake when you can even go to a custom shop and get it done is SS or Aluminum piping and a filter of your choice for 1/2-2/3 of the cost....or just buy it off ebay.A mandrel bent tube of the same length, diameter, material, and location of bends will perform no different than one that say "AEM" makes for 5 times as much.ZOMG I HAVEZ A AEM SUPER JDM INTAKE!!!who cares...

Yes, I know it's not suspension, nor are the quality differences even close to comparable, but it just goes to show that most parts can be produced with the same or comparable quality for much cheaper and less of a mark-up.For a large company to mass produce a set of coilovers it probably costs them $100 to make...what they sell it at is dependent upon their profit goals, overhead, supply, demand, competition, uniqueness, differences in quality standards, consumer perception, etc.

I can also relate it to taking your car to a dealership or a local small garage to get work done to your car. Dealerships cost more usually, will charge more for parts, and many of times won't compromise or change their quoted prices without a fuss or good reason. A smaller, local garage usually has better prices, charges less for parts(in some cases), and is easier to work out a price with. The quality of the job isn't necessarily defendant upon the cost of , usually it isn't close at all to making a correlation. I know plenty of smaller garages that do MUCH better work, for 2/3 or half the price, in LESS TIME, and are more friendly and easy to deal with than the dealerships in the area.Just the other day, I had a quick simple job that I couldn't do cause I didn't have an impact wrench, I took it to pepboys cause I knew they'd do it cheaper and it would be the same job, but they actually did it for free. If I took it to the dealer, they would have charged me $45...I know because I called.

What I am trying to say is that quality isn't always dependent upon price and brand. I won't say that megan, k-sport, or godspeed are as good quality as bigger named coilovers, but they sure as hell aren't horrible, especially for their prices.

All the people bashing this are stupid. He isn't only doing this for himself, he is doing it for NICO too. It is nice to have reviews on stuff like this. I know I will be getting my Ebay exhaust soon, the same one he got...pipe is pipe, simple as that, later down the road maybe i will buy a different muffler and get that welded on there. I know I will also be buying a Ebay intercooler w/piping, and a SSAC t2 flanged turbo Manifold. That is about it...mainly just pipes. Due to slightly off fitments to consider I will get a downpipe with a flex section to reduce stress...should all work out fine. Keep up the good work man

He isn't doing this for NICO.

He is doing this because his *** is too broke to do it the right way.

What logical person would put sub-standard parts on their car knowing damn well they are likely to fail.

Maybe ignorance IS bliss...

werd..i think if godspeed charged a couple hundred more peeps would be all over it, "you get what you pay for" give em time n they might turn into somethin...then they'll have to pay all that overhead and make profit, then they'll wish they gotem when they were cheap. POWER TO YOU ebay guy.

like I'm any different you contradicting piece of s***?!

Who would drool over a flat black 240sx? Like I care, I drool over it cuz i like my car. who are you? oh nice 350z... i have NEVER seen one of those before

You're what I expected when I decided to do this, but, surprisingly, you're the only one who cared enough to bash. "sub-standard"? what is to your standards? who are you to call anything substandard?

My *** is to broke?! you dont even know me. you have no idea where I work, what I do. Despite my age I'm willing to bet I'm making damn near close to what your parents make if not more so dont come to me he's to broke to do it "the right way" what is "the right way? " do you go to a dealer for all of your stuff? oil change... everything. that would be the "right" way, since you're not qualified to do anything.

and you're going to be laughing when my car falls apart? who says it will? and IF it does, if you read, i don't care since I paid so little. again, IF you read, i AM doing this for review because I can easily waste my money on all brand name stuff but why? if you tell me an indisputable reason as to why i will leave you alone. is it because they're tested? well what am i doing? testing. is it because they have reputation? they didnt when they first started.

the coilovers don't apply to any of this, they have a 1 year warranty if installed by a shop so thats who's going to do it.

Like DMan said, these aren't the 350 forums, so dont go trolling around. I dont go in the 350 forums and comment how over rated a 350z is and most people, especially your age, get them just for the status symbol. go get a g series... or can you not afford it you "cheap ***"

I'll be the one laughing when your a** gets banned, or when you leave yourself cuz you're to much of a snatch to put up with stuff.

KEN:I don't think I even need to quote you anymore we're def. on the same page

As for everyone else, thanks for actually seeing things the way it should be. i'm not cheap, i'm not stupid, i just dont want huge brand names and no money ESPECIALLY on what I've done so far. why would i spend $700+ on what I got for like... what... ~$400 for a header back exhaust with *BRAND NAME* hi-flo cat.

it's ridiculous.

will do. this is kinda what i think to, i mean if huge names see other people selling knock offs of their product for cheap then why dont they lower prices? it makes no sense to me, all i know is they buy the name products and duplicate them. that's eBay, welcome to it.

thanks for the support

This may be just my opinion , but why dont we stop arguing here and let the dude get some work done on his car with support. who cares if its SUB par its his car bro..now if he were forcing you to put these "sub par" parts on YOUR car by all means be a little tweaked, but right now since this isnt any ones car but his.. if something "happens" it happens to him.. not any one else.

As far as the " I buy name brand only comment" Let me give you some insight:

Ever heard of a Gibson Les Paul?? well if not its a guitar.. Gibson endorses a company called Epiphone who also produces a Les Paul of the basic same quality. Now you can go out and pay over 1000 for the Gibson or indeed by the Epiphone, which through an amp, sounds identical for $450..

the purpose of me saying that is: you SOMETIMES get what you pay for, but there are times when you pay for the name. And this isnt coming from some reviews. ive owned both and have played guitar for 13 years.

Not trying to step on toes here just offering some info.

like i said, i care for my car, but ebay won't kill it. like i said way at the start the only thing im worried about is a boost leak from the b.o.v. other than that its just pipe, except for the coilovers. those are a whole other story...

they';re cheap and new so everyone's afraid.

check that thread, some people know people who have had good, track and DD times so far. im not about the people know people who've heard this n that. its not my style. i'll find out myself. not to mention they're 1 year warantee. back to my point... how did these big names start? you think they threw down a $xxxx product? no way, they start small and people are nervous. man up... christ. im not telling you what to do with your amazing vehicle

Dude, keep doing what you intended on doing. There will always be a difference of opinion out there and that is to be expected on the internet. Maybe what they say is from the heart or it could be just to get a rise out of you. Either way, it's not their car and I am sure that you are in control of what you are doing. Just my 2 cent.

of course, no doubt. i don't intend on changing my ways just because people think differently. some people dont like flat black, i've loved it since i was like 12 or 13. it's just something i like, not cuz its cheap, or GRuNge, i just like the look, LOVE the look.

i'm probably going to order my intercooler and piping tomorrow, or the engine depending on how much i get. for those that dont know my grandma's house was sold, that's what i've been waiting on but thought it would have been settled by now. i needed a DD for work til the money came in from the house for the swap. it's all settled now so stay tuned
