nooooooooooooooo

so I got my car back today

the only bad news is the engine is shyt TERRIBLE compression. It tries to start, it kicks, it turns it sparks up but doesnt run. I'm flipping a shyt on Tiger Auto. I read up before I bought from them and I read a bunch of good somewhere, oh well.

Good news, I have a block lined up for me for $800 oooorrrr I can rebuild. we'll see, but it should be done by december now that I have the most expensive bits out of the way... i hope

Yea I'm fighting for just a refund on the motor, not shipping, not harness, and not ecu. they immediately shot it down since its out of the 30 day care period, but then they re-opened the complaint so we'll see, I'll keep it updated. but like I said, the eBayMobile will be driving soon.

I havent heared of them. I got a swap from nagasaki w/ a 30 waranty. Two months after i got it with problems, they trayeded me a working turbo, oil pan, ecu and got me a new wire harness. All I had to do was explain my situwation ask! Good Luck Broski!

yea I have, but i forget how deep I read and when. I'm re-reading now and I'm up to page 4 with only 1 legitimate, proven experience... and it was POSITIVE.

Just a bunch of hate otherwise. I'll keep reading...

man I feel like getting godspeed coilovers now since my car will not see a whole lot of track time just some spirited driving once in a while. Shyt, they are half as much as stance, tein's, etc.

They're in Toronto lol. I heard good, and bad. I got a bad motor, it shouldnt happen, but it does. The warranty expired which was my fault (it should be 30 days from start up not purchase, but oh well.) I'm fighting to get my money back and it's going smoothly, I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Despite my bad experience, I'd still recommend. As long as you check the engine in 30 days you'll be good.

Feel privileged, it's an honor

Another update...Realize, the warranty for me engine is up, and has been for 42 days when i filed the claim. Despite the double over the warranty (30 day), JDM Tiger STILL persisted to help me, their customer service is AMAZING! Bad engines happen, just be sure to get any probs dealt with in the 30 days, thats why mine is taking so long, BUT, i now have options....

Option 1:Straight up exchangeI send my engine in, they pay shipping, and send out another engine, warranted, in which I pay shipping for. Good: New engine, fresh warrantyBad: I gotta pay shipping, and risk another bad engine (but I DO have the warranty)

Option 2:Keep my motorReceive $300 cash (from Tiger's pocket, they already sent the payment to their supplier)Receive $149 cupon (stupid canadian accent ) COUPONand 10% off of shippingObviously, I'll use this for another motorGood: This leaves me with 2 complete enginesBad: Not getting all my money back, BUT I'm getting a COMPLETE motor for about $1050 shipped

Possible Option 3:Keep my motorThey send me a block and I pay shippingGood: I have a warranted block. It's cheapBad: I have to strip my bad block of all the "outside" stuff and assemble to the new block. This is assuming all that stuff is in good, working order

JDM of Miami has a great price on the block shipped at $1050, but I can get a COMPLETE motor from Tiger for the same price. I'm really feeling option 2, let me know what you guys think

just throwing it out there - I live around tiger and here the word is to avoid them unless you plan on rebuilding your engine.

They have a terrible track record and it is not uncommon to get a bad engine.

I've seen some ****ty cars come out of the place but they do get decent ones if you know what you're looking for.

I'd get some cash back from them and then get another motor from somewhere else.

idk dude... $1050 IS alot, especially compared to shipping +fees. hmmm... I'm just nervous they'll take it and leave me with nothing

Their customer service and attempts at helping are amazing! I've been calling daily working to get this resolved, and I'm quite happy. Sure, I got a junk motor, but they're helping me a ton to work it out.

If I get money from them all I have will be $300, not enough for an engine from someone else

Crap, I bought a motor from Tiger Japanese a few months ago. I'm about to swap my SR next weekend. Hopefully I don't have a bad engine cause I'm way past the warranty. Good luck on your build, I look forward to seeing the new engine.
