project comes to an end/buying a car

well due to my dad being a royal prick, it looks like my project may be coming to a close before it even got off the ground... it's not official but it looks that way anyhow...

but if it does, i'll be looking to buy a car, so if anyone knows of anything

1. RWD2. sporty3. around or under 16 grand...throw it my way...i'd perfer turbo something but anything is ok really...

i'm so pissed tho cuz i was plannin on KA-T for my S14...but it's a real wreck right now n it will take alot of money and time to finish it, something which my dad isnt willing to sacrifice...apparently his new G HAS to have garage space...jackass...

i can, and was planning on it, but my dad is being a prick and saying he dosent wanna dump money into a ****ty project...so i'm gonna probalby have to sell the half assembled pile of junk it is right now and i'll get my mom to buy me a car as a graduation present i guess...

he "needs" his garage for his precious G35...

i wanted to get a used 350Z and start modding it right off...but it's too pricey i think...ill have to talk to my mother...

i hate to sound like a rich spoiled little prick, but i guess i am i donno, i'm just really pissed at my dad for all the empty promises of helping me build my project car

Good luck finding a used 350Z for around 16 G's. All the used ones ive seen are going for right around MSRP. I dont blame your old man for hogging the garage with his G35, ever since i got my 350Z, my wife parks in the driveway!

i was considering buying this one 350z near me, but it was owned by some russian kid that i wouldnt trust (i know him sorta) and he put a spoiler and a **** load graphics on the sides (bulletholes, and gay fast and furious stuff) i wouldnt be suprised if he upped the price just becuase of the stickers and stuff

I agree, the only 350Z you can get for $16K is wrecked. I suggest a last genreation 300ZX. M3's are great but expensive to repair. Same goes for a 944. Repair costs will shock you.Other interesting RWD's in that range: Corvette C5, Lexus SC300/400, last gen Supra

ah wow, ok life sucks...heres an update on my ****ty story..

i "bet it all", placed all my stakes in this project as my shot at having a nice ride, basically the only thing i give a **** about, i dont care about music, or anything...i love one thing, and it's cars...i'm no plane freak, or a software nerd. i dont love drawing or painting. not singing or baseball...i love cars, i love to drive, i love to work on them, i love to learn about them...so i decided when given the opportunity i was gonna place my soul into this project...now i have been ****ed out of the only thing i cared about...it turns out, im probably selling/parting it out, and getting **** in return. absolutely nothing...

i am left with garbage...and that's how my life goes

$16,000 to play with... niiice.. If I had that kind of cash, I'd pick up a used Audi S4 or maybe a Lexus IS300. The S4 is a bi-turbo V6 AWD and the IS300 is just a N/A inline-6, but still respectable.

Don't worry about it man, I had a very similar problem with my dad back in the day. He went out and bought me this POS cavalier for a graduation present for me because he thought my mint '74 super Beetle just wasn't reliable enough to go to college with even though I had driven the hell out of it for 2 and a half years with absolutely no problems at all.

I had at least 3000 worth of restoration work in the car during the time I had it and it was in tip top shape inside and out. The first week I went off to college he sold it to some guy for $750 and I never saw it again

Umm... well.. with the 16k gone this isn't really an issue, but M3 insurance is over 2500/yr with loads of discounts for u-25 males... That sucks man, don't hate them too much, if I had a G... and someone I could force to park outside... I would make them park outside, and what your mom is doing will raise maintenance costs, tell her that, then she'll start putting the recommended (premium, I guess?) fuel.

Too bad the Auto Enthusiast Police can't confiscate her Mini due to obvious abuse. They can give the Mini to a loving family that will feed it properly, and your mom can get a Saturn instead.

I'm surprised that Mini isn't running like ****. I guess it could retard timing to prevent detonation, but it would still probably run like ****.

dont worry, i throw in octane boost every so often and fill it up on premium when i borrow it...

and like i said... at the moment i have garbage...my only hope is this...convincing my dad to let me do an SR swap...that way i can get everything promptly from heavythrottle or something, no waiting and collecting, just delievery and swapping

I'm kind of going through the same situation. My parents and grandparents keep telling me to get rid of my Q45 and get a Dodge Neon brand-new. I think I'd kick my own *** if I did that. Everything will work out bro.

What a nice first post, welcome to nico a55hole:rolleyes. If you even halfway knew mainevent you'd know that he's been working on this car for god knows how long, trying to get the damn thing perfect. And his parent (read:dad) was supposed to have taken the car on as a project, you know a father son thing (omg those still exist...).
