Why Project: Cheap Whore? She's cheap, she'll be fast, and when she's done, she'll make you want to scream. This, my friends, is one of the happiest days of my life. Today I picked up my 1990 300zx. The good part? I paid $600. Yes, $600. There is NO rust on the car, there are only 1 or 2 noticable dents, and there is no engine or transmission. This thread will be my running thread on Project: Cheap Whore. We plan to have a TT in there by July (at the latest). The 240 you see in my sig will be gone for the sake of MORE POWER!!! Anyway, enough jabbering. Time for what you've all been waiting for. PICS!!!The other factory wheel is in the trunk along with radiator, driveshaft, starter, miscellaneous pulleys and belts, bolts, and alot of crap. More pictures of the interior will come probably tomorrow. Well... what does everyone have to say?

gotta love good finds!

I got mine for $500.The interior is all pulled apart and is in the trunk...but that's less work for me anyways, it was ALL going to come out.The only thing is, it lost reverse, and the motor stalls...plus it has no paperwork =/

Its a project!

But hey, I can't afford to insure it anyways...

It is my roadcourse car.

I found it in the car.Is there supposed to be anything in here? Oh, and if anyone has the plastic trim piece that goes above the battery tray, I need that. And now, my favorite pic:

Would be great to sell the 240 to a fellow NICOnaut. When the time comes for you to be in the market let me know. I'm asking $3500 (negotiable) for the car.

So this weekend, I started the arduous task of refinishing the Z's wheels. The sanding of one wheel took me 2 hours. I feel like it's worth it. I only had the time to do one as I also decided that Sat. night would be a good time for a party. There's a pic of that in here too...Here's the front of the wheel to start:The back of the wheel to start:Here is the front after sanding:And the front of the wheel after paint:

And now, the party pic:That was a lot of fun. More updates as they come!

Wow, just noticed the pic of you behind the Z holding the garden hose. You look excited! haha

My buddy has a similar setup for his XBox. 8ft HD projection image FTW!

Looks like lots of fun ahead. Plan on swapping the auto for a 5spd or plan on going with an auto TT???

Plan on cutting any weight on it???

Note - the 2+2 platform is actually the best platform to utilize for a race track version. Longer wheel base and few other characteristics also that supposedly make it superior for racing applications to the 2 seater. That is just what I heard after having a conversation with Steve Millen at a ZCon some years back.

1: That is not me with the garden hose. That is my friend John. This is me:2. No plans on weight reduction... yet. Let's get it running first. And it will be a 5-speed TT.3. Yes, it was the good ol rattle can!

NOTE: That pic of me gives me a chub. Is that wrong?
