Thanks for the comments. To answer your questions I did spary both base and clear myself, but I had prior experience before doing my car so I was able to refine my technique. Actually I learn how to do everything from experience. I really didn't have anyone telling me what to do. When I started to learn I was overspraying like crazy, now it is virtually no overspray.
I don't think it's possible to spraycan the entire car like I did base coat and clear coat, my arms would fall off and the time it take to perfectly match the texture of the previous spary before would not be possible. Actually the spray cans was a last minute idea for black top. I didn't have any black paint for my spray gun so I went to walmart and picked up a can of black gloss paint sprayed the top before I clearcoated the car.
The color is gray metallic even tho it has a brownish coloring. It took a very looooong time to tape off everything I think I spent 2 whole days taping off everything and I didn't use cheap tape either. I found out that using cheap tape allow paint to get under the tape. The tape costed $8+tax per small roll made by 3M. automotive paint shops should sell this it is a green flourence color tape
Paint is PPG and clear is also PPGCompressor size 5hp 30gal with inline filter and disposible paint filterSpray Gun HLVP certifiedimportant to use Tack cloth, paint strainers
i2ice4m3 - I would advise you to do a good sand job, sand down every area you plan to pain. I got lazy for some areas like the inner trunk and at some places paint didn't stick to well so I had to redo it. Also take your time to tape off everything as well and before you remove the tape after painting I would suggest you follow the tape off lines with a razor.
