Project Car Is Finally Complete! Volk GT-7, KenStyle, Lambo Yellow

Well….ALMOST!!!!

I’ve made a few small changes

Here are pics of the car as it progressed. This project took over 3 months to complete.

Many shades of yellow were considered. Lotus Saffron Yellow, Porsche Speed Yellow, Honda Rio Yellow Pearl, Audi Imola Yellow, Corvette Millenium Yellow, as well as Nissan Ultra Yellow were all considered. The decision was finally made to go with Lamborghini Giallo Orion Yellow. One because of the exclusivity of the Lamborghini name and two because of Chris’ (mazzoo on my350z.com) many 350Z photos of his Lambo Yellow 350Z. Below was the picture that finalized my decision:

A request for photoshop was then made to fellow members, and Wrah stepped up to give me a general idea of what I was looking for. A complete picture of the concept vehicle was then put together by illestjrz back when all I had was an idea.

Further along in the project, the bodykit and wheels arrived.

The first shot of base coat was put on the the front fenders.

And later the rear section of the car as well as underneath the trunk and hood were shot with base coat, pearl coat, and clear coat.

This car was designed to be a DAILY DRIVEN, SHOW CAR. It will debut at Japantown in Northern California on Jan 23rd. It’s SoCal debut will take place in Chinatown on Feb 13th.

Future mods include a custom clear bra by Jeremy Gomez from Invisiguard ( [email protected] ) as well as an audio/video set-up to match the bold new look.

Thanks goes out to Yuichi Kurosawa from KurumaZ for getting me into SEMA 2004 to do some product research as well as getting me a few small parts, the members of the Golden Gate G35 Club for their support as well as members from all the G35/350Z forums for their ideas and feedback.

The credit for the awesome paint job goes to Phil Weaver, Jr and his crew over at Image Autobody in South San Francisco. If you are in the Bay Area and need a paint job, bodywork, or a bodykit installed, these are your guys.

The project car is currently being sponsored by MMI Industries ™®© (Me, Myself, and I). If individuals or companies would like me to promote their product, please contact me at [email protected]

Since this is my first show car, 2005 will be a fun and exciting season. If you guys see this car, please stop by and say hi. And if you see anyone messing with this car, please help a brother out and call the cops

Below is a preview of pics I took while the car was in the booth today. Didn’t have my camera, so you’ll have to enjoy the camera phone pics for now. I’m stopping by the shop again tomorrow and will snap some more in-progress pics.

Thanks for all the compliments.

Well, here’s some more updated pics. Damn…if you could see this in person….the paint is AWESOME. Even without a buff and polish, the shine on this paint is AMAZING!!! Enjoy….

Don’t mind the paint scheme on the front/rear bumper. It will match the original KenStyle car with flat black paint in the respective areas. The battery and engine covers are also being painted to match.

Again, the workmanship and paint produced by the folks over at Image Autobody is AMAZING!!!

Notice that the emblems on the side sills have been shaved. No free advertisement on my baby.

Completed pics will be posted on or before 01/22/2005

Wow!

Awesome Car! I love your choics of color and wheels. It sounds like you will have a very good year. How long from the time you had the idea to do this and now has it been? Did you have the G35 then decide to pimp it more or did you have the vision and buy the G35 to pimp out?

I can't wait to see the finished car out in the sunlight. Please post lots and lots of pics!

Great work!

i've had the car for about a year and a half and did some engine mods. due to circumstances beyond my control 3-4 months ago, i decided to change the look of my car. from idea to completion will be about 3.5 months.

Nice!

You better take those wheels back and keep them clean till the car is finished. Wet sanding can cause a real mess.

Are you going to keep you OEM wheels?

Some more¡K

Don¡¦t mind the rear bumper support. I¡¦m having that painted black so that it¡¦s less obvious.

Last I left, there appears to be a small fitment issue on the front bumper. I¡¦m hoping it just needs to be realigned. Final pictures will be posted on Saturday. Thanks for the positive comments so far. I¡¦m extremely excited to get the car back tomorrow. Even decided to take a day off of work ƒº

If that car doesn't make it to the Nissan Nationals, it'll be a crime. That's a Best of Show competitor right there!
