I recently bought a project car that my time will not allow to finish. Here is my craigslist ad http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4827788223.html I may finish, but would source a complete motor. What are your thoughts on JDM vendors? Where are your trusted suppliers? I am in Nor Cal.

Thanks for the help!

NorCal, SoCal, AnyCal and anywhere else...STAY AWAY from JDM engines and go rebuilt or a trusted, drove it and it works local engine.
There engines have too many issues already when aged, and adding oil starvation (dented oil pan/damaged pickup from shipping) and unknown condition is a well-known, no-no recipe for disaster in the Z32 world.
If going on the cheap scour the local part ads and craigslist, or even our classifieds here on NICO...seems I saw a motor or two there recently.

^He's got it right. No records on a JDM engine, and you'll end up paying a similar amount for a rebuilt after you do the maintenance required, assuming you get a good one with good compression.
