sooo, the reason i wanna go CA...its like screaming "drift motor" to me.its a 4 cyl, same as sr and ka. but i like it better cause it is like a mini RB. plus it just sounds sick. i mean, "CA18DET". it's a mini RB. turbo. and its a rare motor.
WHAT? Do you even know what your talking about? I don't think so

You people suck.

Dude, do a CA18 swap, do PBM coils and weld your diff. Your car will be AWESOME.

CA18 with a T28 and mild tune would be a SICK little motor.

And you ARE right about the mini RB part. Nissan took the same design and added two more cylinders (among other things)

Keep up the good work.

For some reason i get a slight euphoria when i look at that image...Also if you are going to LOLDRIFT, why not just stick with the KA? Besides not being turbo stock, it meets your criteria for liking the CA. 4cylinder, unique (too few people go the performance KA route when compared to others). Also you have a super cool intake on it already....

I will tell you you need to learn to quote.

Clean car. Steep price but if there's no rust I guess it's worth it.

You can think what you Want to think. I don't understand why you want to swap in a Smaller displacement motor in when the one under the hood is just fine. You can turbo the KA for half of the price of CA swap.

okayyy. your point? i mean i have seen ka's with as much if not more power than some sr's and even more sr's than rb's. plus its rarity for part of the reason i want to. you see so many sr's and rb's on the tracks and on builds and everything. i just comes down to personal opinion like most people say. its not like i dont like those motors.

Oh ok, I see your going for the mad JDM type drifter. You just want to do what's cool/ "rare" instead of what's practical/ cost effecient/ level headed/ reasonable.

Your a lost cause.

since when did boosting a ka the right way(not the ebay way) become cheaper than a simple ca swap? i have been researching my motor options for a while now and came to the conclusion that it takes big bucks and no screwing around when it comes to making a ka reliable and strong with a fair amount of boost.plus they just dont rev out like a ca. I have mild power goals (200-300)so im leaning towards the ca myself.

I have nothing against the CA. I had one in my 180 and Im putting one in my 240. If thats what you want, know why. Not just because it sounds cool or its cheaper. They also have a real downside.

Welcome to NICO buddy! Soo is the car really orange or is it just the pics? Dukes o' Hazzard or not, it looks like you have a clean platform to start with. I think you definitely have the right idea by going with suspension first, since no matter which direction you do eventually go (ie. drift, auto x, or just a nasty street car) you will always need to upgrade! The only other thing I want to add is that you should try not to come off as ignorant when people start saying "mean" things about your car. I know it sucks, but after awhile members will start to think that you're just some punk who knows nothing about cars and just wants to be a mad jdm tyte drifter. They will flame you to no end just to get you fired up. Just make sure you dont make any wild accusations, and you will be golden. That's just my advice on that subject, either way, good luck with your 240 man!
