I want to buy a 240sx so that I can swap in a rb25det engine, but i'm not sure if one version would be better than the other in terms of ease of swap. i know there happens to be a lack of info on the s14 swap but is there any reason to pick one over the other, or should it be equally diffcult?

is there any other reason i should pick one generation over the other weight/suspension/build quality/recalls? (besides looks- I don't like pop-up lights but I really want to do a front end conversion anyway :D )

btw I've been reading all the posts for awhile now, but I don't think I've seen a definite answer yet (just a bunch of s14 swaps being done for the first time currently)

thanks

There's see,s to be much more collective knowledge regarding S13s than S14s. S14s are harder to smog if you live in CA due to OBDII. S13s are said to be lighter and stiffer then the S14. They've also been around a really long time in Japan (Produced alongside the S14). If you want to do an S14, you'll probably be blazing a trail, or you might induce people to come out from under a veil of secrecy and expose secrets of the S14.

S13 chassis stiffer than the S14? Hmm, S14 does have a longer wheel which will require some re-engineering of chassis design or material construction to keep stiffened up.... Listed curb weights haven't gone up much, I image material construction and design has remained in part the same so I guess this may be the case.

Never the less I am still looking for a Dark Blue or White S14 SE with leather interior and sunroof. I don't care about the condition of the engine nor transmission really so long as the chassis, paint and body are solid and haven't been in any major accidents. If anyone is selling something like this within 200 miles of the Dallas/Fort Worth area feel free to drop me a line.

well I guess the only thing might be the fact that s14 has better wheel choice (5 lug right?) and is easier to do the 300zx brake swap. anyone else care to chime in on whether or not the s13 has a stiffer chassis or is easier to do a RB engine swap?
