Modifying the M5 will result is lowered performance, rather than increased performance. It is not easy to really improve upon the factory setup, well without making some sacrifices at least. Lastly, you can pick up these great cars that were quite expensive on their release for cheap, but you still have the maintenance fee of an expensive car. For example, the dual mass flywheel, not cheap to replace. The clutch, I'd only trust OEM, not cheap either. But the performance, and quality is much much superior to a tin can 240sx.

Last year I bought a black on black Audi A4 1.8T quattro. 5 speed manual and super clean. I love DDing it alot, and it is faster then the 240, but I still miss the raw, simple fun of my 240. Haveing my Audi is nice, but I drive it hard and brake it and it REALLY hurts the wallet. In a few weeks my 240 will be completely done, and I cant wait to go for a joy ride in my gutted, LOUD, low, a/c and stero free toy

i LOVE the M5...

sooo nice, fast as hell comparatively and the torque is just mind boggling.

i dont plan to do any power mods past the flashed Powerchips ECU thats already there... Im with Bumnah, these cars are perfectly tuned as is...

already throwing codes, BOTH mafs are most likely shot, and since the previous owners werent the type to wrench on a car, it could use some plugs, MAYBE ignition coils (all 8), o2's (all 4) and DEFINITELY the two MAFS.... i knew all this going into the purchase, and accepted that with a ballin car comes a ballin bill to pay. still less money per month than 240 mods lol. and insurance is CHEAPER for a '00 M5 than an '89 240. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

not a cheap car to maintain, but you gotta pay to play... and its income tax time, so moneys not an issue.

i miss the RAWness of the 240 for sure, but goddamn does this car kick the crap out of it.... its apples to oranges really, nowhere near a comparison. both cars break passersby's necks, but for totally different reasons

ill be back in the s13 game for sure, but for now, its M time...

interior is a black dash, black door cards, etc, gutted rear. some pics are a few pages back...

and the unibody rails are in good shape. previous idiot owners kinked the one side. rust was repaired 2+ years ago professionally on the underside, then undercoated. its not concourse-show-car quality condition under there, but its cleaner than 90% of the 240's on here from the east coast.

the car is sitting in my driveway at the moment and i dont feel like jacking it up to take pics of the underside, due solely to laziness.

Its in pieces... but its all there it just needs new a fule line, intake cam, head gasket, and its pick up only.
it needs alot of work thats why its only 100, but block and head are good.
