Started back up today...

Ground welds, cut outer flange off and welded on an extra 2.5" to the wheel well and ground welds down.

The rust I found the other week was worse than I thought...

Hmmm... no, dunk ****... but possibly VIP?But I dont know yet LOL

Done for the night. I ran out on my 2 lb spool of .030 wire, swapped tips and put in my 20 lb spool of .035 wire. Had much better luck welding with it and didnt burn through nearly as much!

Tomorrow I have to do class work so I dont know how much I will actually get to work on the car.

VIP 240? It can be/has been done, but... meh. Doesn't really suit the car from what I've seen. Your work is very nice, though. I'm interested to see how it turns out and what you do with it.

VIP 240 is right, wait till you see the direction my S13 is going, (S14a front, GT3076r RB20 Amistad wheels 18X10 and 18X12, hopefully, Cusco Zer02r's) I hope to have it pretty much together by next summer.

I've been sick since Friday. Finally felt good enough to work on and off today.

I got the drivers side tub mostly done. Just need to do some final trimming then weld it in. The passengers side still needs the rust cut out from the lower part of the strut tower.

I got the drivers side completely welded in except the very front edge.

I was grinding the welds down and got like 40% done on the drivers side and my cheap 4" grinder burnt up...

Grinding / clearing paint continues this comming weekend. Along with finishing the tubbing...

Weekend after I should be skim coating various areas in the bay and then blocking it down flat. Hopefully get the bay in paint soon so I can get this back on the road... exterior work will come later.

Unfortunately no... Its been crazy the past few weeks between school and other projects at home... I finally got insulation for the garage but that's going to take a weekend by itself.

I was sick for almost 2 weeks and didn't want to do anything but was doing a lot in class, next weekend it was my fathers, than mothers b-day, then it was down week and I hung with friends, then thanksgiving, then I finished up the basement at my parents.

In between all that, parting out my ZX2...

What I've been up to at school...

Dirt Late Model for an instructor. Another student and I worked on it. We did everything rear of the main hoop. I did all the welding and 1/2 the metal cuts / fit-up, he did the other 1/2 of fit-up and started some stuff in the front end for suspension mounts.

A few of my welds... I prefer doing stitch around tubing... I sometimes go cold if I do continues because of not wrapping the gun around enough as I go.

The parents basement now that I got a projector and made a screen and a 1' high platform for the 2nd couch...

Screen is 4.5' tall and 6' wide

The pics aren't the best, didn't feel like messing with the settings and the shutter was open to long.

Just a commercial... this pic is to show the size of the screen.

Transformers

Rescue Dawn

Next year I'm going to have meets and the projector is coming outside along with a few speakers. Once it gets later in the day after we get back from any cruise and/or photoshoots, I plan on turning it all on and watching a movie or 2 (has to be "appropriate" because of neighbors). I'll probably just make a quick frame for a white King size sheet or something along that line to project it on.

40-50 mins... yea, that's relatively close. I'm in Lewisberry 17339.

I'll have car specific meets, and then just general meets where anybody can show (not saying that everybody cant show during specific meets, its just the "car specific" meets will be talked about on their websites).

We have a decent size grill along with a small fire ring and plenty of wood that could be cooked over, or a pizza/sub shop just a few minutes away. Details would be talked about more when it came time.

(Man, I need to get to sleep LOL)

Pulled most of the rear suspension parts last weekend and throughout the week at school in Chassis Fab @ WyoTech I made tubular items.

All tubing is 7/8" .156 wall... ends were tapped for 5/8" 18 thread bolts / heim joints. To say the least, these are probably the most heavy duty ones made. I then got 7/8" nuts and drilled the threads out and slid them onto the tubing and TIG welded them in place to be a place for a wrench to go to adjust the alignment. The heim joints are left hand threaded 5/8" and there is a 5/8" to 1/2" reducer pressed in so I can use the stock 1/2" diameter bolts.

The lock nuts have not been installed on the opposing end to the heim joints on the camber and traction/toe arms because I have yet to round the brackets. Once completed, parts will be probably be powdercoated a candy red or something similar.

Let me know what you guys think!!!
