Yea, I'm getting back into it. I attended the Freeze your tires off event up at State College and seeing everybody having a good time and stuff jogged my mind why I have a 240 and the fun that can be had.

Granted I'm fixing mine up... I'll still mess with it some haha.

I didnt participate in any drifting, I dont have anything on the road that would be able to without a very slick surface (like the snow that day HAHA).

I came up with a friend in his Jetta and we parked up behind the building where a few guys were changing tires and stuff and then walked down and signed in. We were there for around 2.5 hrs but got cold and left getting stuck in traffic for a while. Can't wait to make it out to some stuff this coming year. Haven't ever drifted so it should be entertaining! Heck, havent really been to any drift events either... state college was my first one.

Sweet. What's your plan for attaching the chassis to the rotisserie?

What are you going to do after you're done with rust repair under the car? Seam sealer and undercoating or just paint?

I'm probably going to buy an undercoating gun from the paint shop we use at work and get SEM truck bed liner and use it. After the engine bay is done tubing and any little rust repair, I'll be spraying the wheel well areas along with underside with the SEM product. Then I will be painting the engine bay which I'm undecided if I'm going to do flat black or Black Sapphire Metallic from BMW like I plan on using on the exterior and of course being "glossy".

Decided not to mess with the rad support and bent upper rail on the passenger side... so I elimated them.

Before you ask why... Main reason is I want more fabrication practice. After that it is because replacing the rad support and that upper rail would be a few hundred and tubing is much cheaper and unique in the end.

i'd love to see the entire front end done in tubes. nothing like fabricating your own parts...

Steel arrived today for the rotisserie. Blade #1 down for chop saw. Just went out and got another along with the parts to my welder. Doubt I'll be doing any welding tonight tho.

Basically everything cut. Need to bevel a few edges slightly, clean off the scale, then fit-up and weld everything. That will be a process over the next few days after work... may get done sooner than planned because I have a review on Wednesday/Thursday.

Mid Friday I told the manager that I needed off Monday (today) because my steel was finally arriving. He called me into the office like 2 hrs later and asked if I was going to take the entire day off. I had kinda planned on it but then told him I'll see if anybody is coming in early. Then as I was walking out he "conveniently" remembered that he was 2.5 months overdue on my review. In the end, another guy with the code ended up going to work today, so I went in at 7am today and worked till 9:40. Easy to say, my manager is probably pissed, but for the pay, I don't care. I can make it up doing work elsewhere.

I live kind of in the country. It wasn't that late tho. I started cutting it at like 4 then had to run out and get another blade along with some other shopping then came home and finished probably around 7.

IDK, really isn't that much to MIG welders or welders in general and I havent used that many different ones. It starts smooth/immidatelly so the wire doesn't feed out and push on the material so there is no lil jump in the gun.

We used Lincoln 135 migs in Collision class and 180 in Chassis Fab.

I just have a Cannon Powershot S2 IS. There is a panorama setting and I used that. It was probably around 7 pictures total, then I used Canon photostitch to blend/crop them all together automatically. If I didn't use that, I used CS2. No special lens... not that into cameras but it is something I'd like to get into some as a hobby.

I'm using .035 on the rotisserie. I've been using I believe .024 or .025 for the sheet metal stuff.

Worked on the rotisserie more yesterday and today. Maybe 1 hr left of welding but I need to get another grinding wheel for my angle grinder to notch for the other 3" pipe. After that its just drilling 5/8" holes for bolts to mount the rams and then drill holes for bolts and some set screws. Bolts will be used every 3" so I can put them in to lock the height in place.

Collapsed/lowest setting.

Fully extended/raised.

Some welds

That is pretty sweet. I didn't realize there was going to be some hydraulic action going on. Is there going to be a motor to rotate the car?
