Its not at Advanced Auto... Advanced is where I checked because I get a discount at the one near school... it wasnt in their computers or the books... even the guy that everybody goes to there couldnt find it and said it was only available with the purchase of the arm itself...

I'm not too concerned... I'm going to get a sealed ball joint unit that has less resistance which will in turn result to a faster acting suspension by freeing up some resistence from the movement.
then it was either pepboys or car quest, but i think car quest. i remember, cuz it was a moog part

I have a website along with a forum but since I'm not a "registered" business / "legit" business yet, I don't push it. There is a decent amount of people already interested in doing business with me, but I would like to get all the paperwork and legal work started and finished before I actually start putting a name on everything.

My website... (you can also see it in my signature below my posts) There isnt much on it yet... I've been waiting to get some more projects started/finished along with the stuff mentioned above.

The forum... not much on it really... mainly some build topics but very few posts by others. Most of the members are local friends.

As for the video idea, I like it, but I need to work on my socializing skills. I'm kinda quiet most of the time and sometimes mumble... not something that is good for what you are suggesting.

I also think I can get enough work as it is to maintain enough of an income because I am currently living with my parents so that is helping out but I will have to see how this goes.

I'm sorry if I missed it, but I just skimmed through the thread. But where did you get the new Heims and stuff at? The ones that came on all my adjustable suspension look kinda weak... And I want to get some rubber boots for them too.

I got them from a local speed shop called LIAS back in Indiana, Pa... however they are all 1/2" instead of 12mm which doesnt effect me because I'm using this setup for another build and then when I do the group buy / later builds, I'll be using 12mm heims on my 240.

Just google 12mm heims and I'm sure you will come across something. There are many different options, the ones I used are just your standard metal on metal... no teflon or anything.

Cool. Well, as I said it's not so much of a business thing as something that would be kind of fun to do. I'm sure you'll have no problem making money or finding work in the future. I'll be planning this out anyway in the next few months, so let me know if you change your mind.

Its been a while since I last posted. I've got some new updates...

Got some toys the other week...

1.75" x 5.5" die

Cost: $290 shipped... not much too it, just solid metal machined down and heavy.

The Bender:

Cost: $498.95 shipped... MUCH better quality than ones at school. I have plans for it the ones at school somewhere but decided to just buy a better one than make a better one. Came with degree gauge and magnetic pointer... should make bending multiple items much more efficient and accurate. At school it was always pulling the tube out checking with an angle finder and then putting back in to bend more or putting it on a frame bench and trying to un-bend it some.

The notcher:

Weighs just over 20 lbs. Frikkin heavy, the ones at school were so flimsy and cost $150... this one cost me $271 shipped and is much better quality and can also do offset notching unlike the ones at school that only did notching on the ends.

Worked on the car some today. I pulled the carpet, dash, dash bar, firewall sound deadening / plastic stuff, AC/Heater blower and vents and most of the wiring harnesses.

god i love these kind of rebuild threads.

im also considering going to wyotech, my neighbor went there and when he came back he got a job at a body shop. he does all this crazy fabrication out of his garage too. he's big into chevy s10's. i remember everyday id walk by my window and notice his got the s10 completely torn apart, and then just a few months later its easily the best looking s10 ive ever seen.

i want to do that so bad.

I ordered it from the TrickTools e-bay account. Unfortunatelly it took 3 emails and 6 weeks to get the stuff (the stand came in 2 weeks but what good is that without the bender and die?). The e-bay account said a 3-4 week delay but I contacted them and they said 4-6. Oh well, I'll be ordering from them again, they responded to concerns relatively quickly.

Wow is all I can say. You do really quality work and the suspension pieces look amazing. Can you do me a favor? Haha can you get a pic of your clutch assembly? Not the pedal, but how the spring is attached to the assembly/how the pedal returns. Thanks. (sorry for the mini thread jack)

Exactly what I want. Haha thanks man. I'm doing my 5sp swap and the clutch was not returning up so this really helps. Thanks again.

Chris28, the clutch pedal will eventually return back "up" as you were wondering when the master cylinder is filled with fluid, and its connected to the slave cylinder, which has to be bleeded also.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I think this is what you are wondering.

BTWClean build up, and very professional.

I'm currently working on some 5" 97-04 Dodge Dakota flares.
mirochuki13 wrote:Need uuupdates.. lol. How's the project coming along?
No updates... BOO

LOL, its on the back burner. Limited funds = slow progress. I'm not going to throw this thing together and then be pissed about the outcome. I'm doing it right the 1st time.

I've already learned from those mistakes in previous years LOL.

I'm working on the 5" flares for the 97-04 Dakotas again. Took on too many projects at once. Also trying to find a decent job at a nice shop to do anything from fabrication, upholstery, paint/body work, even if its just starts as an apprenticeship. School loan bills start in 2 months.

Dont worry, I'll update when I start doing stuff again! I havent forgotten about this forum.

Bumping this up.

Splitting a large storage unit with a friend this winter, going to look at the place tomorrow afternoon. Plans: Have this thing together on the road, and ready for some shows by Spring. Use: Nice driver, shows, and "safe" drifting once in a while... (LOL, safe drifting?)

Pics to come of its new home once everything is setup and all projects from there. 1st agenda is all undercoating and floor deadening comes off, then after I finish the metal work in the bay and remove any seen rust and replace, sending it to get sandblasted. Once back, it will be cleaned and sprayed with primer and then body work will be done followed by a cage. I will most likely be painting it 475 BMW Black Sapphire Metallic at work and then taking it back to storage to install engine/drivetrain and begin on the interior. Interior will be relatively basic, just front seats (undecided what I'll be using, may use my Corbeau CR1 seats and just recover them since they are fading or get something else, then door panels (possibly custom) and recover the dash.

This has been put off long enough... its time this is finished! No big plans engine wise, just a rebuild with better parts, but no turbo setup for now. Have to cut the budget somewhere so I can still save for a house.

would a storage unit have electricity? 220 for your welder?

It has at least 110. My friend works next door to it and the building is commercial use so as long as it has 200 amp service it could always be wired for 220 (for my welder, and/or a decent compressor). I'm hoping it has 3 phase access so I can get a nice compressor to replace my Craftsman 6.8cfm 30gal that will last my lifetime. Since it was commercial, it may also have 440 which would be way overkill LOL.

Details will be figured out tomorrow. If it comes down to it, I can bring it back home just to do the cage. That wouldnt take more than a few days).

Storage unit was a no-go. Didn't have proper electric capability or "proper" permission to do work in it so I passed it up.

On the good side, I pretty much finished drywalling and insulating the parents garage. I am taking a 1/2 day either Wednesday or Thursday to get some steel to make a rotisserie and mount the 240. It'll be flipped on its side to start work on the underside.

Nice and insulated now, put up 7 lights, 3 switches, 5 outlets. I am using a 50k BTU kerosene torpedo heater which takes 10-15 mins to get it up to 68-70* from 40-50* and then 2 small electric heaters to maintain that.

Once the 240 is on the rotisserie it will be pushed outside temporarily so I can finish drywalling and organize some shelving and stuff and then back in to get the inner fenders finished and the car probably taken to work so I can paint the bay.

Yea, I'm getting back into it. I attended the Freeze your tires off event up at State College and seeing everybody having a good time and stuff jogged my mind why I have a 240 and the fun that can be had.

Granted I'm fixing mine up... I'll still mess with it some haha.
