Post

Hello,

Some of you might remember me from an earlier post I wrote about my "all or nothing" state of mind when it comes to modifying your car. I made a few decisions, and came to the conclusion that I'll be with my car for quite some time, so I'm going to make it my project car. So far its quite lightly modified, just Eibach springs, strut bar, SPEC clutch and intake. I'm breaking up the modifications into three stages: 1. suspension, 2. brakes, 3. motor/performance.

1. I've got the springs, and ordered KYB AGX's yesterday. Once those are in, combined with the eibach sportlines and the strut bar, my suspension should be pretty much complete.

2. My brakes suck. Today, I ordered EBC Front X-drilled/slotted rotors, and EBC greenstuff performance brakepads. With those, my braking system should handle number three.

3. Sr20det. This is by far the most expensive, but most rewarding part of the project. I decided to prep the car for the added power by modifying the suspension and brakes first, thus making the car "ready" for the appropriate motor. After numbers 1 and 2, I have approximately $2000. I need to save probably just about that much to order my SR20 (most likely from Heavy Throttle), and to pay for an install.

I have freinds that have done the install, but I decided having a shop do it would be the smarter of ideas. I'll most likely get a warranty, and I'll get to ***** and moan to them if something goes wrong. Once this part of the plan is done, I'll think about upgrading further, vis a vi injectors, FMIC, fuel pump, cams, etc.

Monday the 7th will mark the day of completion of parts 1 and 2. I'd like to have part three done by the end of the fall. We'll see. More to come on Project 240sx.

Nick.

Sounds like you have it well planned out. The suspension should always be the first major mod done, but rarely is.

Good luck, and keep us informed.

I'm not getting it. I know, I know. I'm a slave to my mother. She approached me the day AFTER I was supposed to buy my bike (long story short, guy who was going to help me look at bikes never did) and told me her extreme wishes for me NOT to own one. She's under enough stress already, and I do not wish to be the cause of a heart attack. I'll get one in about a year when I move out.

Since I won't be spending on the bike, I'll spend on my car instead! Project 240sx, baby!
