So I just wrote out this whole thread and then somehow closed the window. Anyway, as some of you may remember, I had a mishap with my motor last April when I hydrolocked the dumb thing on I-95 doing 40mph.

Here are the damage pics:

And here is the car that it came out of:

So I bought a new block (obviously) and heads, JE SRP pistons, the Manley H-beam rods seen above, ARP head and main studs, all new gaskets and seals from Federal Mogul, high performance main and rod bearings from Federal Mogul and that's about it. I'm finally making progress after over a year!!!

I'm really excited about getting this thing built. It will be basically a brand new engine when I get finished. The valve-train is still stock but I have had the valve seals replaced. Questions and comments please! Oh and it's bored .020 over :bigthumb:

Boost is a ways off. More likely to see some juice before boost.

Nice! :mike Well except that whole hydro-locking deal...that sucks. I managed to do the same thing with my first car... broke three rods and bent the hell out of the one that was still there. Needless to say, it left a pretty big hole in the block.

My creepy roommate's 3.1 Buick did the same thing. How much to have that all done?

That exhaust header is on there just for measuring...right?
Cuz it looks like a bear laid a nice coil on the side of your sparkly new engine.

Headers are only good for minor power gains with the motor. I'm not going to waste my money even though the stock ones look like shiet.

Didn't you say you were going to sell it after you put the motor in?

I sure did. Don't drink and drive. You will owe you parents lots of money and have to sell your favorite things in life and feel like a jackass. Let this be a lesson to everyone.

That's a ways off. It was a hypothetical future purchase. If I can afford it in a couple years, I want one.
