That thing is so ugly and so hot at the same time. It's got a John DeLorean look to it.

Every time I see that massive nose, three words come to mind: chevy small block.

Dude, it looks SO much better w/o the chrome fender molding. Nicely done. And frankly, I would like what you have done. What have you done?

I think that a VQ swap would be teh hotness.

funny you should mention SR... hmmmmmmmmm......................................anyways, other than discovering that the radiator leaks, I have gotten inthe KYB-GR2's that I ordered, which will go in monday (hopefully) along witha toe adjustment and steering wheel alignment plus component inspection.

removed the chrome arch flares, blacked out the chrome gas cap, swappedthe SSR's onto the rear, played around with the recaro's/sliders & wedge eng.seating brackets that were included with the car, but as of yet have notinstalled them. I popped out a major dent in the drivers side 1/4 paneland it looks like 90% better than it did... 100% will be when I get itprofessionally straightened, but I'm really pleased with the result.

this pic gives you a pretty good look at the kamei air dam and custom sideskirts.

I removed the 75 lb speaker enclosure that monopolized theentire hatch (which was good for a stage 2 weight reduction), then wentto work removing all of the interior panels from the hatch. then I cleaned upthe wiring in the hatch, rerouted some of it and just tied some of it togetherfor the purpose of making it look a little more intentional.

I then vaccumed all of the sawdust in the hatch from his speaker box project and cleaned it up as best I could, I found a little rust hiding in the hatch floor which is bothering me a little bit, but I don't know much about rust so I don't know how bad this patch is.

I'll put up more pics as I make more progress. I think the hatch looks betternow that all the crap is taken out of it, you can see the original datsun colorof baby blue in there also. anyone got any advice on fabricating a triangularstyle strut bar for the rear?

I don't know that car, but the rust doesn't look too terrible. I'd suggest a large amount of naval jelly, a steel wire brush, and a file. Get it nice and clean, then Bondo.

Oh, and she's looking VERY nice. I second that it's got a striking similarity to a DeLorean. That low-angle rear shot is just bad-a$$.

<singing> gotta go back in tiiime

thanks chopp, I appreciate the compliments. unless naval jelly is anotherway to say belly button lint, I don't know what that is... but I'll look intoit and do that soon, because I know that rust spreads. this isn't bad likeeast coast rust or anything, but its dissapointing after having discoveredsome in the engine compartment under the battery tray area. I know olddatsun's are notorious for rust (its a 1980 200sx, by the way) so I guessin retrospect, this one isn't so bad off. I'd have to pull the carpet so thatI could inspect the floor pan, but I'll save that for a day I'm feeling a littlemore adventurous.

if I do a swap to the S12, it'd probably be an SR...mainly because of the rampant aftermarket support...

or get leet and do the FJ. but that'd be if I had more money to spend...even though you can get the motors for less than a grand...

Naval jelly is a rust eater that you can find at Autozone. It's cheap and effective, just be sure to follow the instructions and for god's sake, don't EAT it. Should do a nice job on what you have there.

hey thanks sky

there may be a primer job in its future after all the body panels are straight, but when it actually goes in for paint (someday) I'm lookin to do that onecolor of silver that I can only call pewter... its got the lighter silver as thebase coat and then a darker sort of candy smoke over the top, so the lookof the color changes with the body lines... if that makes sense. not the full onsmoke grey gunmetal color, but sort of somewhere inbetween.

I'll look for a picture of the color I'm thinking of. I had also considered red,but I think it might stand out too much. If I do a turbo swap, I don't wantto be conspicuous when I drive around mustang hunting (jk) lol.

I can compromise with a nice charcoal pearl. That would look very nice.

What? What's wrong with black? It would make an already sinister looking car look even more badass. Besides, silver is pretty common place IMO.

a semi gloss black would be pimp....and black out all the chrome and badging...

I think I'm gonna go half and half on the S12...like the upper fenders, hood, roof and hatch the factory red...the lower half (I might get creative and try to make some widebody fenders because the Grand Prix owned) semi gloss black.

Dark blue, body-color on all chrome and badging.

Body-colored rivet-on fender flares and a big fat set of these:

(of course, polished and not crappy looking)

oh my god I ****ing love you hashi, yes, in the gay buttsechz kinda way...because THIS is EXACTLY what I've been looking for... I've been hard pressedfinding ANYTHING that deals with the s110 period. I do love SSR mk1'sbut I don't think that they have good enough ventilation for brakes... I'm either going to stick with the reverse mesh... or possibly red 3 spokeadvan oni's, what do you think?

I want real s110 silvia badging but its hard to come by... believe me, I'm on the prowl.

hey, thanks man its kind of a secret right now (atleast as far as forumsother than "others" are concerned) until it is a little more presentable...I just drop little hints around and noone has any idea what I'm talking aboutso they ignore my nonspecific mumblings about s110's and other old silvia relatedjibberish jeez CD, noone cares about a 1980 datsun

an interesting little fact is that this thing is #2444 out of the factory... thatmeans that the vin ends with 0002444. there are not many left on the road.that's for damn sure.

I'd so love to drive that...

I personally think that car would be best suited with meshies or mags.

hmm, maybe I need to photochop the advans onto the s110...I originally wanted red A3A's but they're real hard to find in 15"s.

so you're voting to stick with the reverse mesh?

any other opinions? the advans are 15x7 +15, my only worry is that itwon't flush out the rear properly... I mean, I could run spacers, but I'dprefer not to.

I saw it on ebay, glad someone who actually appreciates it picked it up,damn shame about that automatic transmission. I'd check on that underbodyrust that the guy mentioned.

heres the basics: along with me, there is you and 3 other people with S110's on nico.2 of them have 1 post each. the other has maybe 5 but hasn't posted in months, but he is on club S12 under the username eddy if you want to talk to him. the only one with any real mods (as far as I've seen) is mine.

there are no parts available for these cars nor does anybody know anythingabout them. I've been doing quite a bit of research... turning up very little.modifications are going to be things you fabricate yourself, wheee!

congratulations, you've got your work cut out for you.

basically, you ask a question about this car, noone is going to have a response... well, except me, but I know little more than you. anyways, I'll help you whenI can. good luck. welcome to nico.

ps I like the pics but I already saw it on ebay so it doesn't count, lol.

That is too funny that you saw it on ebay too. I definitely am looking at the rust damage, not unfixable, just some work cut out for me. The interior could use alot of TLC as you saw on ebay, but I've actually already started tearing down the car (I don't like leaving things unattended). How did you find a spoiler and bodykit for yours? If there is a site that I can go to where they have a few different bodykits and spoilers, I'd definitely check it out. Yours looks really good with what you did to it.
