I was like WTF!!!what should i do??? cut the hole bigger??? does anybody have this problem with their swap??? and my wiring Accordding to Srswap wiring thingy. i got every wire match up... but there's plenty of them that have no where to go as they don't match to each other. is that ok?? BTW the chassis is a 90 240sx with SOHC KA.. my front clip is Auto transmission CA18DET. but I also got the 5spd transmission with the swap. I'm using CA presure plate and Sohc Ka clutch plate ( line up perfect) new pilot bearing. BUT the thing is DO I HAVE TO CUT THE SHIFTER HOLE BIGGER???? I'm depress.. I need help, Won't be able to get my hand on it again til Monday. hmmm.. Help please... C

First thing i'd do would be to check how the engine is sitting on the mounts. If it is that far off, i would think that your problem would be located there.

Do you have the 5speed transmission on? Or is this for the auto because i had a small driveshaft problem with mine but mostly check to see if the transmission crossmember is off as much as the shifter...

Yeah i just did mine last night. I had 8 pairs total that matched up and 3 left over on the ka side and like 8 left over on the ca. Just check heavythrottle.com to see if you have at least the pairs they listed. Im going to do my engine bay wiring tonight. The thing is, i didnt hook up ANY heater hoses caus i didnt even think about it when we put it in... is that bad :)

Sounds likes its the wrong transmission as in SOHC CA18ET transmission.

Friend of mine has a sohc ca transmission on his dohc ca and the shifter hole was too far forward.

well, jarco got the transmission from japan, im almost certain of it. im not sure why it wouldnt match up correctly.. you can always try the ca bell housing on the KA transmission. wiring wise, i know i had a bunch of stuff left over too, so dont feel bad. i did the wiring as said in the heavy throttle diagram, then tried to match the remaining wires as best i could using the fsm for the ka and the ca. it seemed like it was more or less just matching colors. good luck man, lemme know if i can help! (dont know if ill be able to get down there any time soon but i can try and help from here)

I'll try to swap the Bell housing MOnday. as far as the wiring, I got alll that was listed @ HT page hook up except for the Brown 02 sensor. ( how do I do that??) and have to connect the heater hoses ( which is not my main concern @ the moment) . I just wanna make sure I got the wiring right ( which we will find that out very very soon. ) And 1st thing I'll put my hand on will be the transmission. then heater hoses. Thanks for all the support, Tim thanks for the offer. I'll call if i need ur help when i get it going. Does anybody have SR 02 housing laying around that wanna sell??? let me have it!! I don't wanna get the SR down pipe then cut it to fit. Thanks :ylsuper C

i scrape my car going over everything!! friend's driveways, speed bumps, slightly rough transitions where 2 roads meet, etc. and i have the stock suspension!! its soooo annoying.

as for the o2 sensor, just splice that brown wire in to (what i did anyway, though i doubt it was the smartest thing to do) the big fat blue and red wire that runs all over the place. its a 12v power controlled by the ignition and it will work juust fine. there are 2 other things on that brown wire loop as well i think, the pcv solenoid and the aacv. you want those to work as much as the o2 sensor, let me tell ya. good luck man!

That looks good , I got SS auto chrome 02 housing and it didn't fit .. the waste gate pipe hit the steering rack. but the stock SR or good quality upgrade will fit and allows u to us aSR downpipe as well. Now as far as the wiring goes. I'll go look on my diagram and see where will be the best place to spice that to...and work on it Monday. I just can't wait to get it running...I'm so excited. Tim, did u ever find that diagram u got??? e-mail me to [email protected] Thanks guys. C

Depends on the SSAUTOCHROME one. I have their stockish looking one (similar to the one pictured above but not chromed out) and it fits fine! No hassles at all:)

Just get a generic one, its like maybe $18 and all you have to do is cut 2 wires and get some quick disconects and hook em on, much cheaper if you burn urs a lot.

um, this sounds stupid, but is your shifter assembly perhaps bolted onto the transmission backwards? i can see it happening, maybe there was a short throw on it, and some one switched it, but just through the shifter on quick and put it backwards.

or maybe its a sohc ca trans, but you said it lines up with the mount, witch doesnt make sense.

By shifter assembly u mean the shifter it self right??well it's not on the transmission right now, obviously because I can't put it on. the very end of the transmission where u SUPPOST to put the shifter back on is about an inch forward from the CHASSIS hole. AND yes it does line up with all the transmission mount, which u are right that it doesn't make any sense. I'll try to swap the Bell housing to my SOHC KA transmission Monday and see what can I come up with. C

Well, yesterday I swap the bell housing, and use the Ka24E transmission . it works. everything line up. everything bolt on. so i'm 1 wire ( the brown o2 sensor wire. that i have to get a 12v switch) and 2 radiator drain plugs away. Will fire it up tommorrow. but 1 thing i notice is when i turn the key on. not all the light on the dash came on. and when i take the key out. the seatbelt, and a few light will stay on.!!!???WHY???

dunno why. i say to hell with it, start it and have fun, then worry about it when you go and park it. good luck with that wiring and those drain plugs. like i said, that blue and red fat wire should be pretty conveniently located and will work just fine.

I fired it up today .and it start the very 1st try. with out hesitations. ( I prime the turbo b4 i start ofcourse) but the throttle cable is a little too short. so i idele high. When i disconect the cable it idle @ around 650 rpm. but hesutate a little up to 1500. Turbo spoolup around 2000rpm. Sound great. Still have to hook up that 02 wire. And can somebody please confirm what the H@#$ is that canister on the right side of the intake mani. and have like 3- 4 Vac line connect to it?? it has 2 plugs.can that causing the low rpm Hesistations?? and a few light on the dash don't come up anymore.no oil light. the only 3 light that come up now is. door ajar, brake, and seatbelt. nothing else...what do i need to do?? Well i have a few wiring problems too beacuse i just stripped all my wires, wired what needed it, then tied all the rest together (i was drunk :)), so i gotta go back un cut all those and tape them seperate. No lights in the car work, even headlights or the audio stuff so i gotta figure that out. And on your O2 wire (brown) just tie it in with your ECU back up wire because it only gets power when the car is on. Thats what i did :).

You dont need that canister. It might cause a hesitation is theres a crack in it.
