I just thought i would share the progress of my 83z as i was bringing it back to be a nice car once again. I've been on the rb forums for the last year and a half but got bored with my 240 so i traded it off for the 280 and some cash. The car was just sitting in his garage and I don't think he really had any plans for it. The car is a turbo model and has every option down to the digital cluster and heated mirrors. It also only has 119k on it which i think is pretty low for being that old. The car spent its entire life in Connecticut until it was brought to Pennsylvania. Im sure its seen its fare share of snow and salt and we all know what that does to cars. Whoever owned it ended up changing the bumpers and side skirts added some ugly fog lights and threw a 20 dollar paint job on it it seems. Nasty body work and under reduced paint along with too much paint at that. The paint was so bad it looked wavy like bad body work. I started the other day ripping the interior out and removing everything from the outside. It wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. It has typical floor rot in some places and the rockers are starting to go a little bit but not nearly as much as i figured it would be. The door bottoms inside are the worst part by far. The bumpers were held on each by four 1/4 inch self tappers and the side skirts by elmers glue. I hate people who half as* things to get them done. I just wanted to fix the floor and paint it in the beginning but i've decided to just replace anything i can on the car. I got the car blocked down most of the way and all the wavyness you saw was the paint and theres only a few spots of body work from the previous owners. I'm getting ready to fill the antenna hole and wiper arm hole on the rear and get the first heavy coat of 2k primer on it to see what im working with. From there i can block it again and fill whatever i find. I wanted to get it done right and fast but working 2 jobs and trying to get it done is tougher than i thought. The only good thing is that one of those jobs is at the body shop so i can work on it while I'm working there and on the side. I have tons of pictures but don't want to flood the post with them so I'll post a few and put a link to my photobucket. I'll post up more as I get more done and parts start coming in.
