I lucked out and found a fob on ebay for my J30 for $22. I was told there were simple instructions on how to program a new remote to your car. I figured I'd try here first.

TIA for the help.

I tried as per the instructions you posted. No go.. even with a new battery.

Are there any other steps I need to take before I try again? Windows down? Hood open? Headstand while eating a pickle?

The stealership said they'd charge me $45 to do it for me, but I know the instructions are out there somewhere. Anyone have any ideas?

I know I'll sound like an idiot, but be patient and try again.

Are you sure the remote matches the FCC codes for you car?

Some questions on the instructions. Forgive me for asking these anal questions.

While sitting inside the vehicle:1. Open the trunk. 2. Close and lock all doors. Manually or with the drivers panel?3. Insert and remove the key from the ignition six times within 10 seconds. Do I need to turn the key or just insert/remove it?4. Manually unlock and lock driver's door once to enable "setting" mode.5. Push lock button on the new remote controller once, just long enough to hear it beep, within 5 seconds of completing step 4. How long should I push the button? Press and hold or just one quick push?

Thanks again for the help guys.
