Does anybody know where i can get an ECU, I've looked online and the only one that i have seen is the AEM one, and every site i look at says that it doesn't meet emissions for any state except cali.

first off I think that's BS because a programmable ECU should be able to be "programmed" to meet any requirements. Don't take my word for it, I'm still running a stock ECU. I have a few places in mind, 1 sec

http://www.e-mance.com/tunes.htmWhich I recognized their graphics, they're the ones selling the OBD1 to USB cable I going to get soon. and this place, I myself would like to program it myself instead of sending a unit to them.http://www.rs-enthalpy.com/ecu.htmand if you're feeling really handy, build one yourself lolhttp://www.bgsoflex.com/megasquirt.html

And isn't cali the most strict on emissions, so passing them should pass anywhere??

If you know what you are doing, nistune is for you. If you want a plug and play ecu, look into a rom tune.

Nistune is just a real time rom tune. Instead of sending your ecu out and getting it "chipped," you install a chip that acts as an emulator, and you can reflash the chip anytime you want.

Why do you need to modify your maps anyways? What is your setup?

I have a stock setup for at this moment, but I'm about to have a full turbo kit and completely built engine.

afc is ok for a mild set up ( i flirted with 500 three days ago out of my s13) but a aem is a good unit, nistune.com if you know what your doing, eprom chip are popular but never exact 100%

So the nistune is the way to go if you knew what you were doing, or if you are getting it tuned by a pro?
