if its the intelligent key its got to be programmed by a dealer and you need to take all your keys in with the little plate they gave you with a 5 or 4 digit code

No it's not the intelligent key it's just a door lock/unlock and panic remote that the ebay seller claims will work on all Versa's. The instructions say to:

(1) sit in the car lock all doors via the drivers side door button.(2) insert the key into the ignition 6 times within 10 seconds watching for the turn signal indicator lights to flash(3) then push any button on the remote.

I tried this a billion times with no positive results. Buyer remorse I guess. Thanks for the help, I'll give the dealer a call and see what they say.

I hate to have to bring up something like this, but it's a possibility:

I had a friend who was Nissan savvy who bought an extra FOB for his Pathfinder on fleabay, and never could get it programmed. Nor could the dealer. Seller wouldn't take it back even for an exchange (they were an ebay store, not an individual seller) so he went to another ebay store and bought another one. The second one was a counterfeit FOB.

That's just simply one part I would never buy on eBay.

I hope that none of these are the case with yours, and that the dealer will be able to sort it out for you.

I delt with a customer at the benz dealership that bought a keyfob and ebay seller claiming to just bring it to the dealer for reprograming...lmao there no such thing for mercedes all keys are vin coded. but if the fob is anything like my old chrysler van it should be programable.read the owners manual for now and bring to the dealer to double check.good luck.hope the fob was cheap....i also saw a outside door unlock push button security thingy some where....ill try to find the link.http://www.nissanpartspeople.c...y+Fob

Most times when you program a key you actually turn the ignition on and off in rapid sucession instead of just inserting the key. It will not hurt to try.
