I was browsing around 240sx websites, as always, and I came accross this place that does wiring for most of the engines that we like to swap into our 240s. The site is http://wiringspecialties.com/

I was wondering if anyone has used their wiring service, or any professional wiring service, and what you thought of the results. Also, those of you who did your own wiring: if you had to do it over again, would you DIY or go pro?

According to their website, you basically mail them your KA and CA harnesses, they make you a nice complete harness for your CA and mail it back.
The service will provide you with:: - All needed plugs are replaced, wires extended, and electrically insulated. - All connections are soldered and shrink wrapped together, No WIRE NUTS, TWISTED WIRES or CRIMP CONNECTORS. - Full functionality guaranteed: A/C, Wipers, Variable Valve Timing (if present) - All gauges will be functional: Speedometer, Tachometer, Fuel level, Coolant Temperature, Oil Pressure Warning. Check Engine Light. - Turn Key ENGINE START. - Tech support for our customers 7 days a week.
So the poll is, what's the best way to go?

i was 15 when i wired up my ca. enough said. and theres an s14 sitting in my garage that belongs to a friend of ours that i have to fix the wiring because he sent his blacktop sr harness to wiring specialties. he plugged everything in, i even went back through and made sure and still nothing, they wired his ignition wrong because hes not getting spark. so lesson is, do it yourself so you know what you did and if it doesnt work you can easily fix it. i will probably start over with a new harness and redo the entire thing.

Thank you for your wisdom, sir. I will have to consider this.

About how long did it take you to wire up your own harness? I'm planning my swap on a timetable, and having an estimate would help.

took me one night after work which was maybe 10pm to about 1am. i was tired as **** so i really didnt work that fast. actually plugging everything into the motor, all the sensors and **** was really simple and takes maybe 10 minutes, wiring the connectors for the body harness is the main part. also wiring in your knock sensor which took me the longest because its not in the sr write up.

go to frsport.com and look at their write up. it has diagrams and such. really easy to follow.

Thanks very much for the referral. After reading that writeup, I feel 100% confident that I can do the wiring myself.

Anyone planning to do their own harness should definitely check out http://www.frsport.com/SR20DET....html
