Productive weekend on the M6

Postby nchopp » Sun Jun 07, 2015 9:34 am

So the Plastidip came off the wheels, now I'm just trying to find a decent wheel shop that can remove chrome so I can paint them.

This weekend I got her polished up. The clear is like freaking diamonds. I don't have a rotary, and I'm pretty sure that's what I would have needed to get rid of ALL the scratches. I was at least able to make a pretty significant improvement.

Buckets: Two five gallons with Grit Guards
Wash Media: Lake Country Wash Wedge
Shampoo: Chemical Guys Citrus Wash
Drying: Toro 165mph leaf blower, DetailedImage Waffle Weave Micro Fiber

Polisher: Flex 3401 VRG forced-rotation dual-action
Pads: Lake Country 6.5" Hybrid Pads - Orange Cutting, Blue Light Cutting, White Polishing
Compound: Menzerna SHCC 300 and FG 400
Polishes: Menzerna PF2500 and SF4500
Post-polish Wash: Meguiar's D114 Rinse Free Express Wash
Final Wipe: CarPro Eraser
Coating:CarPro CQuartzUK
Final: CarPro Reload

Two weekends ago I painted the brake calipers. I've got M decals on the way.

Nice job!
Now to avoid seagulls and stay far, far away from other cars in the parking lot!

Well, we're about two hours from the coast, so no seagulls out here. As to cars... well, I kinda already park far away...
