Is anyone out there having major issues with their belts breaking. My Z is fully built and has just about evrything you can do to the engine done. I am about 450 WHP at around 16lbs of boost. Wanted to know if there is a fix for the belt issue out there? I go through at least one belt a month.

issue is too much tension on the belt, the belt needs to be able to slip some on deceleration however with the crap pulleys offered start to slip on acceleration at proper tension. only way to stop it is to turn the boost down making your built engine useless or look into a custom 10 rib setup, which wouldnt be cheap, new crank pulley alone from fluidamper or ati will got $800, if you already have ati you can get a new shell for $400, personally i would say switch to turbo, 16 psi on a turbo is going to get your 525-550 to the wheels and can easily be done with the 6266 and the power will actually come on quicker then the procharger(get divided housing and qsv and it will hav a v8 type power curve) superchargers are outdated on gas and alcohol engines, they pull way to much power and offer no benefit(even a whipple is only capable of equaling a turbos efficiency but its stilling pulling 10-200 times more power to spin it over what a turbo at the same power would drain.) plus you wont have to compete with any belt issues anymore.

Thanks. It is actually scheduled to go into the shop to lower the Boost. I looked into the twin turbo set up and it runs around $10,000. I am already into this money pit for over $30,000 not including the cost of the actual car. We are also going to try and bracket the supercharger up more so there is less movement of it in deceleration. Such a pain in the a**, should have gone turbo to start with!

i wouldnt do twins due to the cost honestly, look into boosted performance his precision 6266 kit will handle 600 to the wheels easy, and also offers 6766 and 7675 kits to support up to 1k. not sure on the 7675 but the 6266 kit will cost about 5200 or so for the stage 1 tuner kit, stage 2 with the 6766(this turbo is making 900 on supras the closest thing we can compare too, i make 600 on lowboost havnt dynoed with it turned up to 32 psi yet still breaking in the new clutch) is about 5500. i talk the kit up alot but it performs and is excellent craftsmen ship, even if it wasnt sasha's customer service alone would have me raving still, best way to build a cult like following is good cs.

it will also never scrape despite being mounted under the car, of all the kits he has sold im the only one to have any piece scrape the ground, and thats because the wastegate tube is supposed to be angled to the back of the car and i have it angled toward the ground, if i put it on properly it wouldnt be a issue i just prefer a open dump blasting out the side of the car instead of right under my seat, recirc wouldnt be any issue at all.

if you insist on keeping the procharger(im making a educated guess your running the t trim) then a brace on the front of the case will help a little bit, as well as a crank brace(big a** bar that bolts to crank pulley and supercharger pulley) then you might be able to get away with it but your going to have alot more wear on the super charger bearings as well as your front crank bearing. 10 rib setup would be only real solution though i know you can get them that fit the accessorys i think someone priced it before and would be like 1500 or something for a 10 rib setup. you have a fluidamper or ati crank pulley?

personally i just think its way to much money or work for minimal power output, i have 28k into mine and will support 800+ to the wheels with several components supporting 1000+ only limiting factor being stock sleeves limiting me to somewhere between 744 and 880 rwhp and turbo limiting me at somewhere between 850 and 900. coulda redone it for 24k or so for the same power level or about 25k for 1k to the wheels if i dint do the custom stuff i did.

admittedly you prob end up spending more paying someone to do it though, i built mine on jackstands in my parking lot(ok well parking stall i guess you would call it)

We are going to change out the cogs on the supercharger and lower the boost from 16 -12. I have to change the fuel lines also, because I am not getting enough at high RPM's. Did the injectors and all that but still not enough. When it hits the dyno we are going to set up a GoPro camera to see the movement of the belts and supercharger to see where all the flex and movement is coming from. Thanks for all the advise i am going to forward it to my engine guy to see if he can fab up the 10 rib system or any other solution. The money pit never ends.........

yah trust me i know, just had to spend more cash to black rtv my intake because stock gaskets where blowing out at 22+ psi, gotta put new vacuum lines on too and switch out my excess mess for a vacuum block.

alot of people already make the crank brace just gotta look it up. pretty much then torque damper with bearings on the end so the crank and pulley bolts spin.

im just hoping this new six puck holds up like south bend promises me, the old one with a different friction material and full face held 600 rwhtq if this one will hold 700 rwtq and actually hold throughout the power band ill be happy.
