According to my mechanic, I have an oil leak from the front seal. Am I correct in assuming that if I repair this (front cover coming off), I can also do the chain guides at the same time? If yes, what should I order from Scottsdale?

Also have gasoline smell outside the car and inside when running the heat. Under plenum hoses? Does Scottsdale have a kit for that?

Yes to both. Review the numerous previous posts on both topics here.

The front cover does not have to come off to replace the crank seal, but you're halfway there getting the pulley and belts off. So I would take care of the guides at the same time.

Not much overlap on the plenum job, but it sounds like it's time.

Good luck!

Hey Heath,

Any idea on what the kit costs? I'm getting $427 and change from the website and I want to order these now. But will I get a lower price if I call in? The website says that they are closed Sundays, so I'll call tomorrow. But if there's no difference in calling it in or getting it from the site, I might as well order it now. Just want to know. I made a thread, but it's nothing but views.

Just saw this, but I wouldn't have been much help anyway... I went to T3 and just let them use their parts. The labor mark-up for bring-your-own-parts made it a wash.

But what if Keith doesn't have the parts on hand? I would understand T3 keeping a supply because of the frequency of the jobs.

I'm calling IOS and then Keith right now.
