i have an 90 s13 w/ an rb20det and it doesnt have the tach or speedo hooked up and the wires are cut for the speed sensor coming out of the transmission. DO i need a sotck ka24 speed sensor and can i splice and what all do i need to hook up the tach and where can i get speed sensor

any info will help thanks guys

the typical answer that is usually posted to a simple wiring question is "search" but I don't like telling people that

iirc, the ka24 speed sensor will fit right into the rb20 transmission, but I can't remember if I had to splice it in there. just go to a junkyard, or even easier and maybe cheaper, search ebay.

the stock 240sx tach will not read correctly unless you get it "retuned" or some crap with the potentiometer on the back of it. The easiest way is to get a stock skyline tach and wire it in..lol The 240sx tach is set to receive a 4-cyl signal, so a 6-cyl signal will show 4000rpm idles...i think..anyway, once you have a good tach, ground it correctly and connect the other wire to pin #7 on the rb20 ecu; it is yellow/red, but check the FSM or a rb20 ecu pinout to be sure you use the right wire..
