Had my 07 Nissan Versa Hatch SL with just about all the options for just over a year, almost 30,000 miles now. I have had so many problems with it, it's not even funny.

1. 6cd changer started eating CD's at random. Took it in under recall, got no unit.

2. Gas mileage sucks. 36 my ***, I barely get 27.

3. Bolt for passenger side seat keeps coming loose.

4. A/C refuses to work at start up, sometimes takes a few minutes to blow at all. Not that it's not blowing cold, it wont blow at all.

5. Keys are easily locked in with the button on the handle, not so easily unlocked. I guess that's our fault.

And other little noises here and there.

Anyone else out there wanna *****?

1, 3, 4, 5. Never happened to me & no noise other than the AC compressor

2. Was also expecting better gas mileage, but I blame my lead foot and the hills.

I once tried locking the doors with the button on the door and it wasn't locking. After a few minutes i realized i left the keys in the car so as far as I know it recognizes when the key is inside and doesn't let you lock the door. I'll try it again and see if it works again.

Wow. I've not had any of those problems with our SL either. I have a 6-disc CD changer in my Scion that started eating discs. I had to have it replaced under warranty. I think all in-dash changers changers can be problematic. As for the gas milage...you do realize that the 36 MPG rating is for highway miles under the best possible conditions. You aren't going to get that if you clock it on tank which included some in town stop-n-go driving. I have gotten 36.9 MPG on highway trips. I do agree that the city milage is well below the listed 30.

Sorry to hear about the problems you've had with your Versa. I've had mine almost as long (11-1/2 months) and have 34,500 miles on it, and have had none of the problems you've had. (Or any others, besides the popped-up airbag cover it came with and they replaced.)

I've averaged 34 mpg over the last 15,000 miles, and 32.5 overall. (About 31 in the winter, with the change in fuel formulation.) And it's still beautifully quiet, even at the 75-77mph I run it for much of my commute.

I haven't had any problems with the 6cd changer mainly because I play the XM about 95% of the time.

There is no recall on the CD changer. It should be taken care of under warranty.

Quote »2. Gas mileage sucks. 36 my ***, I barely get 27.
Without knowing which transmission you have, this is kind of useless information. CVTs seem to average about 27 to 28 in city driving under normal circumstances. The V also eats gas VERY quickly if you step on it... even one or two jackrabbit starts on a tank will drop me from 32 mpg to 30.

Quote »3. Bolt for passenger side seat keeps coming loose.
I have to ask... have you tried using threadlocker?

Quote »4. A/C refuses to work at start up, sometimes takes a few minutes to blow at all. Not that it's not blowing cold, it wont blow at all.
That sounds like a bad BCM to me.

Quote »5. Keys are easily locked in with the button on the handle, not so easily unlocked. I guess that's our fault.
This means you have the convenience package and iKey. The iKey is not supposed to be able to lock if it detects either one of the keys inside the car. This would also indicate a bad BCM.

If you've had the V a year, you've probably got one of the early production ones that had the really flaky BCM's. If your dealership hasn't already replaced it, they should.
