It just takes practice with any car. Your profile says your 18, how long have you been driving a manual?

yeah i just bought the car wednesday, 3 days ago, and i didnt want a manual car and the salesman made it sound really easy to learn how to drive a stick, he showed me for seriously 5 minutes and then expected me to drive off into the freeway i was freaking out but i did good i just kept missing gears, today my transmission completely blew out! its making a hard clunking noise and its jerking :/ what is that? he sold it to me as new but the car says it has 1221 miles!!! thats not new, he sold me a lemon, and im going to cause some drama at the dealership on monday, i paid for a new car not a used one, i was tricked :/

First off, 1221 miles is effectively new. It was probably a dealer test drive car, which I believe can be sold as a new car. Even if that's not the case, you should have seen the odometer reading before buying it and discussed that at that time.

Second, why did you let him convince you to buy a manual car when you didn't want one and did not have any significant experience in one?

To be honest, you bought the car and, most likely, your lack of experience caused the failure.

That said, I would pursue the dealer as well and have them check EVERYTHING, because if there was anything even remotely wrong with the car when they sold it to you, then yeah, you have grounds for them to take it back and give you your money back.

Unfortunately, it does not qualify as a lemon yet. Lemons generally must have chronic problems, not just a single massive failure.

To be honest, you're at a massive disadvantage here, because you bought the car and signed off that it was new, you bought the car without experience driving a manual car and it failed, and you're young. While the dealer definitely took advantage of you and pushed you into the sale, legally you're probably responsible for everything.

That said, best of luck. Hopefully the car was bunk and the sleazeball salesman will get what he deserves.

are you sure your using that funny little third petal called the clutch when your shifting i know if you dont push it all the way in it will make the loud crunchy noise you described when you try to put it in gear. sorry for the sarcasm i think you shoulda got an auto. for your sake im hoping that im right and nothing has happened to your car
