I've had this problem for a while now, the A/C on my car will only work in full, or better said in 4, it doesnt work in 1, 2, or 3. and it's annoying because most of the time it just gets too hot si I have to keep on switching it on and off instead of being able to keep it in say 2.....Any ideas what might be causing it???Thanks.

Your blower motor resistor is bad. What is does is control the current flow so that you can have different speed settings for the blower.

If you reach behind the glovebox area, it should be mounted into the air ducting, in my s13 it mounts in the AC section.

Just replace that and you should be good.

The resistor should be right behind the glovebox, it's a fairly large connector, that i THINK has 4 plugs...

Just unhook it, unscrew the 2 screws that should be holding it in and pull it out, what you should then have in your hands will be a metal bracket, with a HUGE resistor on it.

Cheapest place to get a replacement would probably be the junkyard. I'm not aware of any part # for a new replacement.
