Hey, I dunno if its true or not, but I'll post it anyways. I was talkin to a friend, about 240's, he said that there were problems with the pre 1991 models and before. I dunno if its true or not. I've been thinking of getting a 240sx probably a model that is 1994 and before. I was just wondering on some input.

Thanks

What kind of problems was he talking about? My 90 coupe has 188k miles on, a lot of bolt on mods, but the engine block is still stock (only a cam) and it runs fine. Little niggles are: my moonroof panel came out long ago and the bar that seals the moonroof rattles occasionally; my dash lights flicker in and out, but my HUD works all the time, so i think it may be a bad turn signal assembly? Other than that i cannot complain one bit about the car.

Got my 240 from the one owner who bought it with 6k on it factory....drove 60 hwy mile roundtrip to work.....put 208,000 on it, im up to ten and besides a new clutch and having to fix a broken manifold bolt that rattled i havn't had anyproblems. Its actually still relativley fast....it will be faster with a tredtop but smashing all those new civics people pay so much for feels good seeing as next time my odo turns over it will say "mechanical impossibility".

If u r looking for an S13, the 91's have the best cams of all. 89-90's are the SOHC, which make less (140) factory HP than the 91-93 (155) DOHC. But i have read on this board that if u plan on all motor, the SOHC is the engine to do it with. Other than that, HUD is very tempermental. I have HUD in my 90 coupe, and it works fine, just the dash lights flicker on and off. Other than that, get one with all the options, it makes the car feel new even when its 12 years old. :)
