Problems with my top, she wont go up or down.

Alright, so as some of you may know i recently scored a vert with 126k miles for 550 bucks.

Along with the low price, came some problems as always.

1) bodywork, (meh no problem, i have all winter to do that stuff)2) The passenger window is missing, and the rear window is broken open.

and3) the top does not go up or down with the buttons.

When i press the button (yes i released the 2 latches on top), i can hear the motor running but nothing happens.

I hear a 'gurgling' coming from the right side.I'm sure water leaked into the car through the missing window and rear window (even tho it was covered)

What could be causing the top to not work? any tips on what i should do/where to start?

Is that gurgling sound coming at the same time as you pressing the button?

If so.. you most likely have a leak in the hydrolic system.

Check out the FAQ's page and download the FSM supplement for the 'vert. Check out the section on the pump, rams, etc... Once your familiar with the layout, do some investigation and see if you can locate that leak.

Yup, only when the button is pressed. It sounds right behind the rear right panel by the seats,
