ive got the power fc i had it tuned at xat since then when i drop a gear or accel hard i get crazy knock readings of up to 90, before they tuned i, it was fine. while i was there i got an eletronic boost controller, first time i got the high knock reading was the first time i used the high setting (11.5 psi) i called them , and martin says its the timing and that i need to bump that thing on the front of the camcover one degree to the right but i dont want to **** with it..... then today it started doing something else so its starting to worry me, when i leave it in gear and let off the gas to decelerate instead of going to 0% inj. duty cyc it stays at like 1.5-2 % and sputters and sort backfires, if i tap the gas it will stop and go to 0 inj duty. has anyone else had this problem? can some one help me out i dont want to f*** my car up>>>>>sorry for the long post<<<<<<<<thanks for any help, edit: im running regapped plugs at .7mm could that be part of the problem?

check base timing, but even then it shouldnt knock that much.at full boost at ~18psi i get knock readings of about 23...where limit is 60.tps might not be set right.

thanks bro ....basically i got a crappy tune...what should the base timing be and how do i check it and also set/check the tps.....xat is gonna hear some **** from me about this tomorrow; this is ridiculous.....also it doesnt go crazy all the time just when i down shift and hit the gas to accel it wasnt happening at all today i dont actually hear or feel it knock though its not a misfire for sure i run regapped plugs i dont think i told him that when he tuned it

It should be 15 degrees advanced when idling at 650-700 RPM. If the car is reving too high, the ecu will advance timing.

So make sure you have the idle low (650ish), then set the timing to 15. That's the fourth mark from the left if I remember right on the crank timing indicator. Follow the FSM for the details on setting timing.

it usaully is idleing between 700-800 when its warm but if its cold it will idle at 1400 . when it is at 7-800 timing is at 15% when its at 14 its at 20-21%, could timing alone be the cause of the crazy knock reading ive never felt it miss or heard any strang noises coming from it.

follow the fsm like Carl said for the correct procedure and it will idle where you need it to. Unplug AAC set the screw for idle set timing, plug back in... look it up for more detail.

its not idling bad im just getting very high knock readings on occasion and when i let off the gas to slow down the inj duty is supposed to go to 0.0% but it only goes down to 2.0% and the car sputters and back fires slightly,

an improperly set tps will cause it to idle high and not shut the injectors down on decel, go to the misc menu and sensor check and adjust the tps to ~.45-.5v and see if that helps any.
