I tried searching but the search function wasn't working for me, it kept asking me to log in...

I installed a freddy intake manifold this weekend and now my car is idling very funny...

Upon start up my car idles up to 2k rpm for about 2-3 minutes of driving and then drops back down to 900-1k... I can't figure out why and I was hoping maybe someone has experienced this before or knows whats up... thank you...

I'm no SR wiz... but I'd guess it has to do with a faulty AAC... auxiliary air controller. It's an assembly on the back of the stock manifold that controls the idle when you are on closed loop (start up until the engine is warm). Take the assembly off and clean it good.. make sure it's wired up correctly.

Did the new manifold come with the proper flange to install the AAC from the old manifold?

thanks for the quick reply! and ya there is a proper flange for it... I cleaned it when I had it off... do they go bad often when taken apart? I had to extend some lines could that be the problem? could it also be a short in the wires or something? and should it stop doing that when the car is warm even on start up, or is that an ecu thing every time you start your car?

when you start your engine warm..meaning after you drive your car for a few minutes and its nice and hot and then you shut it off and a minute or two later start it again does it idle that high or does it idle normal? if it only does it when its cold then its pretty normal..2krpm is pretty high for 2-3 minutes though..it has nothing to do with your AAC/IACV if your car does not have a funky/ loapy idle..if its a solid idle then the AAC/IACV is fine..if it idles that high when the engine is warm after start up then mess around with your idle adjustment screw on the top of your IACV..did you mess with it when you took the mani off or anytime during the process of swapping mani's?

Well, it is everytime I start up warm or cold... And no I didn't mess with it at all... on purpose at least... maybe it got effed up in the process...

i'm no sr wiz either but i hear on the freddy manifold that the bolt holes for the fuel rail are drilled all the way through the manifold if they are you might want to teflon tape them ore use a sealing compound.
