Problems With idle air control valve

i read the valves are supposed to be cleaned every 40,000 miles ..i just baught my 1991 240sx coupe with 129,000 miles on it and has funky idle...anybody know any good tricks ?

remove it, take out the idle control screw(but count the turn when you unscrew it) so you have a ball park figure when you have it back in so you can adjust back the idle, clean in the inside with brake cleaner or soak in a small bucket,let it dry put ever think back together, put back in and then adjust the idle to about 750 +/- with the tps remove then,and so good,,,i hope na just kidding lol

oh one more thing be very calm when doing it.cause you have four bolts you have remove and there long,and the ones in the back are a pain in the arse.then you have to plugs the need to be remove as well,so with good luck ones again

P.s. Writing with a iPhone is also pain in the arse
