Does anyone else on here have problems with their windows automatically going up? I have an '09 Coupe and it has the convenience package which means the windows should automatically go up when you pull the switch up.

This is the 4th time that the windows have stopped going up automatically. Every time I take it to the dealer, it takes them 1 minute to re-program it and then it works fine.

I want to talk to the district manager about this because I shouldn't have to take it in 4 times to get it fixed, but I want to see if anyone else has had this problem before.

Do you disconnect your battery a lot? I think it resets after every time you disconnect

I have never disconnected my battery. Usually it happens when I am using them. I will be rolling the window up, and then halfway it goes back down. Then I try to put it up and I have to manually do it.

I'm pretty sure I read it on here actually, there's a simple little trick that you gotta do to re-enable the automatic rolling up. I wanna say it's that you just push down the button all the way and hold it until the window's down, then for like 5 seconds more, then let go and it should roll up automatically again?

Let me search for a bit and see if I find it.

EDIT: I had it backwards :chuckle: here's the correct way:

Make sure the window is rolled at least half way up
Roll it all the way down
Roll it all the way up while pulling the switch all the way back and hold it for at least 3 seconds

But, if this is happening to you a lot and you are not disconnecting the battery then you have a problem. It should only reset after disconnecting the battery as far as I know, I cant even imagine what else would casue it other than faulty wiring.

Thanks! The window is now fixed! I wish the dealership would have told me that the last 3 or 4 times I took it in :poke:

What Im saying is that this shouldnt be happening for no reason. If it continually happens, there is an underlying probrlem that should be looked at. If you are still under warranty I would make an appointment to have it thoroughly inspected before you are out of warranty and SOL.

OK. I will have the dealership check it out. I have 40k on it now and I have until 60k before it goes out of warranty.

Well I want to say the bumper to bumper warranty is only 36k miles or 3 years.... that's what I got with my '06 Sentra, and '09 Altima Coupe.. just over a month ago I was around 59-60k miles and they charged me $300+ to replace a leaky shock..... in fact well before I reached 60k miles they quoted $300 to fix it, which is what kind of pissed me off because the warranty had ended last year @ 36k miles..

Or maybe Nissan stopped cheaping out or knows they better warranty their cars for a bit more if they don't want to piss off customers? haha...

But yah the auto-up feature on my coupe also seems to stop working now and then, not often but just now and then. I must be doing something and not realizing it like holding the button up after the window's reached the top, causing it to reset into the other manual up mode? Hmmm..

I bought the extended warranty.

Smart man. Sucks though why not make it a 100k mile warranty instead of 60k if they make you pay for it...

Although I will admit having said all that, I have a bit of a sour experience owning 5 Nissan's over 10 years.. their warranty duration sucks donkey doodles, and they seem to never fix/slack off ever present problems like bad power window motors, leak prone exhaust manifolds, unreliable fuel pumps and O2 sensors, to name a few. Coupled with their conveniently ending 36k mile/36 month warranty bumper to bumper warranty.. yeah.

Hey, this happens every time you disconnect the battery. To make it go automatically up again, just open the windows all the way down. Then, pull the switch all the way up (as if you wanted to close it automatically) and hold it there for a few seconds after the windows have closed. This should make the windows go automatic again!

My window occasionally spazzes out and rolls itself back down when it gets halfway up. But I've never run into the problem of it not rolling up automatically afterwards. Weird.
