Ok im new here, but i really need a hand with my car. 1st off the throttle is having a hard time responding and u have to floor it to keep it from choking down. The second is the battery light on the dash is always on checked the voltage and fuses. There was a sr20 motor of some type in the car when i bought it never could find out which one. :gotme . But back to the battery light when it revs up it get real bright and the head lights do the same. . Any help would be nice.

Could be your voltage regulator on the alternator. Replace it or find a known good alternator and swap it. I wouldn't advise to drive it like that could fry something. Check all of your grounds.

Ok could that be causing all these problems? The alt is only 1 year old so if it the regulator that musst mean i have a short right?

I would still replace it. Where did you get the alternator from?
When the motor can't get alot of power, it will hesitate like that. I was heading down the local mountain one day during a cruise when I gradually lost power, I'd step on the brakes and my radio would shut off, I ended up parking the car for the night and had a friend drive me up there with some tools and a spare alternator. Turned out one of the wires wasn't bolted down all the way. Tightened that sucker down and I was good to go.

When the motor DOES rev, your lights get brighter, which is an indication of an electrical problem that most likely involved the alternator. If you haven't popped the 75a fuse yet, I don't think it's a short. Make sure the battery is good, and swap alternators.
