What I have done with my '03 was I had the dealership do a very thorough alignment and avoided all potholes, divets, pebbles, dust....(you get the point) and its been fine. I believe Im goin on 10,000 miles on this alignment, it tracks well and no noises when Im on the brakes. As for the trans, I feel some grinding changing gears here and there, but thats the only problem I've had.

You can get the "new" alignment set at any dealership, and soemtimes if your transmission is ahving issues, they'll replace it under warranty.

Get it aligned and have them double check the transmission....

as you get closer to 20k miles you may also have to get new rear axles, this has happened on two Z's in my area that I know of, you'll hear a clicking noise from the rear at low speeds, should be done under warranty as with the trans and feathering.
