Problems....

i posted this thread in the 240sx forum...but nobody helped me. i hope you tech guys can. anyway...

my car hasnt been idling right. i had to give it a little gas at startups to keep it from stalling, and when i rev the engine, it would die after the rpms drop very fast.

so my first thought was to remove the iacv/aac and clean it out. i just took it out today and found that it wasnt even dirty, but since it was off, i cleaned it anyway. my iacv is the one without a brass screw, and my idle adjustment screw is plastic...is this right? also...i took off my aac solenoid and the spring came out, and everything was clean. and when i put the aac solenoid back in, i noticed that the spring was rattling, and would even fall out if you shook it enough.

so do i need a new spring? or do i have to buy a whole new iacv?
