Problems starting

Ok I have a 1990 240sx (ka24e). Starter went bad so i went and got a new one, put it in and the car started right up. Went to wash my hands came back out and tried to start it again all i get is a click. I check the ground on the starter and the voltage on the battery, everything is good. I try to start it again and it tries to turn over, after that all i get is a click when i try to start it. Spark plugs have been changed recently. I heard something bout an interrupter switch, but dont know if 240s have them (still searching). Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be????
