I have had some problems and am worried that I got the one bad one.

I had to have some trim issues fixed and had a problem with the dome light switch on the rear left door.

Has anybody else noticed their CVT will loose all power if they back down a level piece of ground and then slowly start up an incline still in reverse. My dealer has experienced this in another new Versa as well, but Nisaan can not fix it yet.

Also, I have about 6000 miles on my Versa and have had it for about 5 months. Over the past 2 months, I have found I cannot get comfortable in the drivers seat. The dealer has even put a new seat in it, but I still can't get comfortable. I seem to be leaning to the right all the time.

I've had my V 3 months. No problems at all. I just wish it would go bit further between the pumps. Like Nissan touted in glossy brochure.

My V is growing on me day by day. Lots of room, great seats, engine completely subdued on the highway. I've noticed no driveability problems with the CVT or the brakes.

SL w/CVT no tech pkg red with unwanted charcoal interior.

Hmmm... this pretty much describes my trip out of the garage every morning. Haven't had any power failures. But then, no one else has noticed my "pull-on-the-rim-of-the-wheel-and-blow-the-horn" experience, either.

Have you changed what you're wearing in your back pockets? The Versa has some fairly hard cushions, and if you're carrying more in your wallet it might be twisting you enough to notice. I gave up wearing my wallet in my back pockets years ago, because how it was twisting my back....

YES!!!!! After driving my V on a 36 hour journey, I found the seats to be very uncomfortable. After my first day of driving, my back was incredibly sore. The seats could definitely use more lumbar support. I had to stop off in Office Depot and pick up one of those lumbar supports for my seat. After I popped that in then every thing was OK with my back.

I also noticed that my driving foot would begin to fall asleep after about an hour or so of driving. I've done this trip 3 times before and never experienced any problems with my foot falling asleep. I would constantly have to take my foot off the gas, wiggle my toes, stretch my leg, then back on the gas. It's hard to get you foot lined up with the pedal. The side panel is so close to the gas pedal, it's hard to make that straight line with you foot, knee, and hip. I would constantly adjust my leg/hip/foot to try and get the most comfortable position, but I never could.

Hip pain is another thing. My hip on the driving side (right) would be sore by the end of the day. I've experienced this before in a Honda, but not in my truck.

These are things that I don't notice when taking trips around town. I don't use the lumbar support around town and I don't have problems with foot, leg, or feet. Before and after my trip, the V felt perfect and I don't have problems with comfort. But on this long journey, the problems popped up. I think these thing are so small that I don't notice them until they are exacerbated over 2500 miles. My wife didn't have any complaints about her seat, but then again she wasn't restricted to a driving position.

What I have noticed about the front seats is that they are set closer to the doors. So, it makes me lean to the right when I'm driving.

Another thing I have noticed is when I go over small bumps or ripples in the road, I would hear noise coming from the driver side in or under the dash compartment. It sounds kinda sounds like something is loose or broken.

I have about 6,500 miles on the engine, and it's been sounding more like an engine, meaning that it sounds more deep and does not buzz like it use to when accelerating, I'm not sure if I should be concerned. Speaking of the engine, I also hear some high pitched noise coming from under the hood when I accelerate, it kind of sounds like a faint loose belt screeching, but disappears when I'm cruising. I hear strange things, but I think it might not be serious enough for the dealer to check it out or be under warranty

I too noticed the noise behind the dash. There's a stretch of highway going through Tennessee or Alabama. On this stretch, the traveling side of the highway has nothing but ripples. It almost seems like a washboard road since the ridges are a pretty decent height and are consistently placed over a few miles. The passing lane is nice and smooth. While riding on the traveling side, it was starting to sound like the dash was going to come apart back there. I moved over to the smooth side and they sound went away completely. Then switch back over to the rough side to hear the noise again. I stayed on the smooth side from there on out and didn't experience the noise again. I didn't actually see the dash move at all, so that makes me thing it's a harness or cables bouncing around back there.

I know this is going to sound weird but to you people experiencing the dash noise, does it sound sort of like a big clay pot hitting the undercarriage? I think I'm experiencing the same thing, but it definitely is a deep sounding (not high pitched) breaking noise. I don't like it at all. It mostly occurs when I'm going over small curbs like into a parking lot or a drive way, and also on really rough roads as described above. Not sure what I'm going to do yet about it ...it's only at 1000 mi so far.

I had one other problem - the third line of my back defroster is missing exactly one inch of the filament, so the entire line does not work when the window is fogged up. Kinda annoying.

I'll probably be taking it back to the dealership at some point to have them check it all out. Otherwise, I love the car.

I noticed a similar noise on hard right turning after my accident. Turned out to be a cracked torque rod. Have your dealer check it out.

do you think that the cracked torque rod could be the noise we're hearing under the dash? It's a pretty loud thunking brokeny noise.

is brokeny a word? haa

I wouldn't call it under the dash, exactly. Felt more like it was under my feet.

I hear a noise when I drive through slush or even a puddle. It sounds like there is absolutely no sound-proofing in the floor. When the slush / water hits the centre rear of the car, that is when I hear the un-buffered sound...

Also, when it rains, I seem to be experiencing some intermittent electrical problems. One time my power windows would not work until I tried three times. The other day, my horn did not sound when I locked the doors. I toggled the horn-beep-signal off a few times and it finally started working again.

Anybody in the market for a Versa. I think I could be convinced to sell it.

Sounds like one of the connectors on the wiring harness that powers the horn, windows and locks has a connector that's loose or getting moisture in it.

Don;t forget that peole are at least 5 times more liekly ot complain or report a negative experience verses a positive one. If you go to any Corolla, Civic, Fit or any other message boards, you'll see a whole host of defects and problems. However, I will admit that the combination of cost cutting and first year production at a relatively nex plant in Mexico has resulted in overall low initla quality level.

On the other hand, my parents owned a '89 Ford Taurus wagon and a mid 80's Chevy Celebrity. Yikes. The toal prolbems reported by all members on this board is fewer than those 2 cars had combined. We're just spoiled now by Honda and Toyota raising the bar on the industry.

Be grateful you have a dealer that will work with you. Most the problems it seems with the Versa is that when owners need the work done, the dealers are clueless.

My dealer threw in the sound proofing undercoat. My V is by far the quietest car I have ever owned.

I have 15,000 miles on mine so far. The only problems I've experienced are a TPMS malfunction, and yes if I push or pull too hard on the steering wheel, the horn blows. I just attributed that to the fact that I'm a very, very large person and probably was putting a little too much weight against the rim when exiting the car.

As far as mileage is concerned, I'm averaging just north of 34 mpg, and have gotten a couple of tankfuls that were 38+ mpg. I drive pretty easy and work nights, so my commute is usually pretty traffic free. Forty mpg sounds nice, but there aren't too many vehicles out there short of hybrids that will yield that number in real world driving and still fit my 6' 8" frame. Mileage never seems to come out quite as advertised anyway. My wife has a 2006 Toyota Corolla (advertised 38 mpg highway w/automatic), which also gets around 34mpg. She drives a 90 mile round trip each day that is all highway. Go figure...

I have add to may one of my last postings. While I did experience some discomfort on my trip back home, I did not experience as much. I wore box toed boots that had a higher ankle. I guess the extra room in the boot helped with keeping my leg as straight as possible and help cut down on leg pain. The seat still could use more lumbar support and the lower portion of the seat should be able to tilt forward and backward.

Well...I know that noise coming from under the dash area is not the rods hitting the car when i'm going over a bump. Because i could be driving over little rocks on the road or whatever that's not a major bump and i would hear it from under the dash board on the driver side only...and sometimes i would hear it when the car slightly shakes and whatever is in or under that dash shakes too and makes this noise. and ill usually hear it when im driving 10-40 mph . depending on the road

The noise under my dash finally stopped. The noise sounded as if one of the harnesses was loose and hitting plastic. It stopped making it about a week ago. I guess it finally settled down.
