Please post any problems and solutions you have with your Rogue here. My hope is that problems are few but the Rogue is a machine made by man so....

Frankly I have not seen the first problem posted anywhere so far. Good job Nissan!

I have a ground loop when I plug my iPod into the Aux jack and charge it using my inverter. It's an annoying buzzing sound. May not be Nissan's fault - could be the inverter or the cable. I'll have to experiment before I come to any conclusions.

This seems to be a fairly common problem in a lot of vehicles with aux. jacks. You may want to try a groundloop isolator such as the one below.

The only problem I've had is with Bluetooth. Works when it wants to as far as taking commands. I've narrowed it down to being a bad microphone. If a call comes in, you can hear the person calling you, but they cannot hear me.It's going in tomorrow to the dealership, even though they said they have no way of checking Bluetooth and that Nissan hasn't offered a school for the tech's yet.

Bluetooth is nice when it works.

My bluetooth has been great. I haven't had any problems at all. People actually think I am using my handset.

People hitting your bumper....oh wait, that is just a problem I have had

I did notice this morning that the button you push to circulate the air in the car is not lighting up. I am assuming it worked though because I was behind an oil burning van and when I pushed the button I no longer smelled the fumes!

If your fan was on then the light should be on when you press the recirculate air button...at least mine works this way. If the fan is off the light goes off.

It is bad when you have to answer your wife's questions on a forum because you are both so busy you almost don't see each other for a week? Well things will slow down next week!

BUT anyways, check to be sure you don't have it set for any function of Defrost/Defog. These will usually default the system to outside air as it is more effective for defrosting (removes moisture from the cabin). If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll call the dealer.

Do I have a problem? On my recent road trip to NC I noted a concern with my Rogue's climate controls. Not sure if it is a problem or something unique to Nissan. With the cooler temps I did not need the AC just fresh air but when I pressed the recirculate air button the AC would activate and the AC light would come on. This was occuring with the vent selection in upper (dash vents) mode not defrost. I know that the AC activates in defrost mode but is it normal for it to come on when switching from outside air to recirculate air? It's not that big a deal I just have to manually cut the AC off.

If it's any consolation, mine does the same thing. I think it's a "feature" and not a problem...

Thanks for the info. It still doesn't seem logical to me for the controls to work in this manner. Maybe I'm just use to Hondas and Toyotas where the AC and recirculate air switches are independent of each other.

Just purchased a new Rogue SL AWD completely loaded on Saturday, May 24th. Drove it five times and on Wednesday, May 28th, I was driving in town and after pulling from a stop sign, the car lost power (stayed on), my VCM (vehicle control module) and Check Engine lights both came on. I pulled over and turned the car off/on again. The VCM light was out but the check engine light did not. Took it up to the dealership who could have given half a crap about it. They had it for 1 1/2 hours and (after I called them to find out what was wrong) said the VCM module "must have been loose" from the factory install, that its happened a few times in other Nissans, and that they'd "triple checked" it and now everything was fine.

I'm trying to find if anyone else has had these experiences. I am concerned that if it had happened on the highway, I would have been rear-ended and God-knows-what might have happened after that. I'm seeking legal recourse with the dealer, but like I said, am looking for any other similar experiences.

Hello, I have had my Rogue since February. After a couple of months, if I was at a stop light and when I started to go... it would not go anywhere for a few seconds...I would have to press the gas hard and then it would all of a sudden take off! It had no power at all, like it was hesitating to go into first or something. Or it is not getting enough fuel to go. I took it to the dealer who could not duplicate the problem and no lights had come on yet to determine what the problem was. As soon as I left the dealer of course it did it again. Well finally just this past Friday, the service engine light came on. I have taken it back to the dealer now and they are trying to find the problem. They think it is something with the fuel pump, but their computer is broken and they are having to get a new one to diagnose my problem...go figure. Anyway, it is a REAL BIG SAFETY hazzard in my eyes because I can get hit by another car who thinks I am moving. I could get rear ended or hit by the side if the car hesitates like that.

Yours sounds like the same issue as mine. What was the outcome?

I am having the same problem as you, dropped my rogue off yesterday 6/10/09 still in the shop and they can't tell me anything. Keep telling me they will call me. It's a real safety hazard!

The symptoms you describe sound similar to a CVT issue discussed in this thread:

Yours might be a totally different issue altogether... but it doesn't hurt to have some additional info when trying to diagnose a problem.

Poor rearward visibility! I'm looking for an easy backup sensor to install on our leased Rogue. Backed into another car today, and I'm at home waiting for the cops to call me. haha....

Well... you can't say there isn't a huge selection of backup sensors for cars... some are better than others so do your research.

Everything from the old standby... "Fresnel lens" stuck on the back window:

To a variation on the back window attachment... the space age "ScopeOut" bi-directional mirror:

For those of us not wanting to add yet another display to the collection of Navigation, GPS, DVD players etc... a simple set of sensors added to the rear bumper warn of inpending doom. Of all the bumper mounted sensors these seems to get the best press because there is no drilling of your bumper, the sensors can be painted to match the color of your car, and the system gets good reviews. Although I'm sure you can get them in a multitude of places... I see someone is selling them on eBay:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

Last but not least... although I know nothing about this sensor... I think its pretty trick. Its very small, clips to your sun visor, displays the distance from the back of your car to the object "and" it automatically activates and opens when your car is put in reverse. Place the car in drive and it closes back up... out of sight nensosor. Pretty trick.

Here's a quick 20 second video clip of the automatic close/open function so you can see what I'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MC-8lkU-GkI

$700 later, problem fixed.

Good find Elton. I think somebody while ago posted a picture with that lens installed in rogue. But in my case I don't need it because I tinted my rear window with 5% over the factory tint and now I can barely see anything. I almost never use rear window anyway.

Now that I got my transmission replaced, I've moved on to another annoying rattle I've been dealing with on my Rogue for almost a year. I solved it today!! The noise would only happen above 50mph, sounds like its coming from under the hood or under the car or around the dashboard area outside the car but it was difficult to tell exactly where without another person riding with. You would have to have the radio off to hear it. The noise can best be described as a loose bolt or washer vibrating. I thought it was wind related, but knew it wasn't serious just annoying. I had it checked out every time I would get a oil change but Nissan couldn't find anything.

Anyway, after checking over everything.. and I do mean every bolt under the hood I could reach, and under the car with no luck, it turns out today I flipped open the back hatch just incase it was something back there. Sure enough it was the jack that popped loose.

I couldn't believe it. I've been driving around thinking the noise was in front of me this whole time. I guess because of the jacks location, the sound must echo off the front windshield or something. I had a good laugh about it. Who ever designed that storage area for the jack should be fired. My best solution so far is to put a old pillow case between the jack and the tools so they don't touch and make sure the jack is tightly wedged in.

I drove around afterwards and even went out onto the highway and no more noise. What a relief. Anyway if you hear a strange rattle but are not exactly sure where it's coming from. Check the jack.

i had a murano for 41 months with a cvt and i exchanged it for a 2009 Rogue sl awd. at 500 miles or so the car started to shake realy bad. i took it in to the dealer and they could not duplicate the vibration, i drove it to a ford dealership and they felt it before we left the sevice building which wa about 200ft. i took it back to the dealer and again they stated no vibration at this time so i took it to a chev dealership same day and they felt the vibration with 100ft. so i took it back to the dealer and advised them that i took it to two differnt dealership and they felt it right away and why cant the feel it, does any one have a suggestions

Be persistent, but not rude with the dealer. Nissan NA might be your next step if the issue can't be resolved.

Flamer.. why in the world would you take a Nissan into a Chevy or Ford d-ship to complain about problems instead of another Nissan d-ship??

What a strange thread- thats not going where the OP intended it to go with this. This thread was started for people that have an issue and a fix - not an issue and a ranting question. And frankly if you have found an issue and then a fix, it should be placed as its own thread so its easily found, and visually available to all members when they log in and check the board.

If you have a question or are in need of help, 1st search our forum, and then if no fix is available; make a new thread.
maybe someone else can then find you simply by searching a few common words as your title.

and regarding ROGUESUCKS: im having a hard time taking this user seriously. I have been on many forums and people that come in, dump on the car/bike/product with a few posts and then never return are either trolls, or are not stable otherwise. This user has 6 posts and never returned. Something is fishy about his credibility.

Problem: The bottom of the glove box is all scratched becasue of the metal pins underneath my wifes make-up bag. I know I know, a "make-up" bag in a car??? sounds interesting right??? It is a bag full of spare lipsticks, perfume, nail polish, etc. she keep them in the car in case we decided to go to a fancy restaurant or elsewhere and she doesn't wear a make up....

Solution: I went to an Arts and Crafts store and I purchase a self sticky, letter size black felt. I used a white paper as a template and cut the felt accordingly. I stick the felt on the bottom of the glove box. Now it looks better. No scratches at all.
