I recently installed a Stillen Near Cat Back exhaust on my 2011 M37 and had some issues afterwards. Just wanted to see if you guys heard of this and if there were any remedies for this. So after I installed the exhaust I had a noticeable loss in low end power. It almost got me in accident when making a u turn. Seems like the throttle lag everyone has with these cars got substantially worse. I did that ECU reset by depressing the pedal multiple times and it seemed to fix some of the lag issue but at the lower RPM's the car just ran like crap. I started driving it in the tiptronic mode so that it could have the power it used to have before the Stillen was installed. Any ideas why that would happen?

Any CEL's or pending CEL's? Definitely shouldn't be related.

No cels, not sure if any pending but I ended up installing the Takeda Short Ram intakes for the G37 last week and it seems to have corrected the issue. It just seemed really strange that the car started acting up after the exhaust. Maybe had to do with the ECU readjusting to a new dynamic.

I did my install the other way around. Takeda intakes first then about a month after I did Invida HFC's with the full Stillen system and I didn't have that problem. I too did the Learning Rest after all the mods and did noticed a small improvement

@Jcesar
Since you're running the Takeda SRI's, did u install any type of heat shield?

@JCesar
About to get the car tuned but I'm on the fence about installing an HFC first. I was thinking Fast Intentions but they're like 5-7 weeks out. Since you're running the same set up as me, what are your thoughts on those Invidia's? How's that combination of mods sound and feel? I still want the car to sound like a luxury sports sedan, u know.

My only complain of our M's was the sound. I wanted to bring the car to life with a good sporty sound.

the setup I went with was everything I wanted and more! at idle it is just a lil louder that oem. normal highway driving you can't even tell that you have a system. it's quiet when you need it to be but hit that WOT and the car comes to life! a roar that everyone tells me it sounds expensive luxury sport.

Have you checked with your dealer to see if your car has had transmission ecu update? I have full stillen exhaust and kinetix hfc r2c intake.my car drives great.sounds amazing.no cel codes.no lagging.i also only drive in sport mode.anything else is pointless.i have a thread on hfc somewhere on here.i chose r2c intake cuz stock oem air duct.sits right into intake filters.so it gets fresh cold air.not hot engine air like short takadas.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Do you guys get any rasp or vibrations @idle with those HFC's? I've heard some videos on YouTube from some G37's and 370's & wasn't really feelin the sound. Some sounded pretty cheap but hey I guess u get what u pay for. As far as that update I believe it was done already. Also, the shop I get my work done at said they could fabricate me a heat shield so I might go that route. Kinda wishing I went with those R2c's now.
